Very nice, brent.
Nice; that Wolfbrae feller is making a name for himself;)

O wow. That's just a jawdropper, Vic.

Gallinat Homburg for an evening gallivant. One of the softest, smoothest felts in my collection.
The third of the recent @steur sendings

Told you you'd like it. Lovely hat, Steve.

Stetson Nutria Quality Western
Late 1940’s to Early 1950s
Dark Brown Nutria Felt
About 5 inch crown as shaped (prob 6 Open)
Embroidered Stetson Nutria Liner
3 1/4 brim - 3 Ply Ribbon

So I’ve had a hankering for an older brown western. Cause you know…. Gotta keep up with my lack of cattle. Was thinking of something similar to my black Miller Western. Something with a softer older style moldable felt. I came across this Brown Stetson Nutria Quality and thought I could check two boxes at once. Asking price was a bit higher than I would normally want to go but I figured might not have another chance at one like this.

Out of the box it was in pretty decent shape. Still gave it a good brushing to clean up and steam for shape. As expected the Nutria felt is a bit more stiff than beaver/rabbit felts of the era…. Which I believe to be late 1940s to early 1950s…. But still shapes just fine.

I started by opening up the crown and working on the brim some. Then I settled on this center dent and front pinch. The fit and feel is perfect.

All and all it settles in nicely with what I was looking for. I wasn’t looking for a daily wear kinda hat.. but really it feels comfortable for me.

It has been a Winchester Blue-mist beaver felt day, soooo far.

My walkabout was under the brim of a VS Executive fedora.

Cheers, Eric -
Outstanding hats as always, Eric.

Borlesso Homburg.

Hat #4 from the recent batch from The Netherlands.

Another looker, Steve. You know you don't need another black homburg, but these older ones get a pass anyway. I wonder how many different names there were trying to imitate Borsalino.

Good ol' reliable, rusty trusty 3X OR

If it works, it works (and it does). Nice one, Jim.

Magnificent!

Such a great looking hat!
Royal Stetson.

I fell for the colour of this one when I saw it a few years back. A very deep orange/brown.

It's made under license in Germany, so Mayser made. It's similar to another RS I have made by them. That one has a ridge, too. This one, however, has a back bow. Love those. View attachment 421955 View attachment 421956 View attachment 421957
Unique colour on that one, Steve. Never seen another one like it since.

Greetings All:
Today....i guess it’s been a few days but for today my 7X CB OR. A fine example of Stetson’s handy work.
And some Willow before she starts college. Not lol
Be well and safe.

Fantastic hat, Bowen. And a cute pic of Willow to boot.

Hey all!
I'm taking this Chisnall for what I believe is it's first time out in the States.

Have a great day!
I'm sure it must be. Good looking homburg, John.

Went to the One Moto Show with my son this afternoon. Wore my Wolfbrae renewed Mallory. The kid is sporting his souvenir hat. ;)

Golden Week (a conglomeration of public holidays) started for me today in Japan. Five days off - I’ve got some pork belly curing in the fridge ready to become bacon.
I don’t usually post on workdays because I wear one of the same three hats every day.
I decided to go for something different today - trying to get another wear out my nicer hats before they go into boxes.
So it was my Tirard to work… View attachment 422197

These hats won’t be seen again for a while - airing them out before they get put into storage…

Beautiful OR, Bob. I like the way the felt creases.

Ohhh! A black Caxton! I have only found two browns and a gray View attachment 422286 View attachment 422287
Those will do nicely though!

Get that man a hat!

In the pantheon of personal attributes, being able to grow a full beard ranks pretty low.
Says you!;)

Another fantastic hat week, Stefan. I'm going to have to vote for the Barbisio just because it's different :)

It may look out of place where you live, but it sure looks right on your head.
