I wore this modern OR Royal Delux for a few hours yesterday during a short lull in the rain.

Rain has resulted in stormwater runoff entering into coastal waters. The public is advised to stay out of flood waters and storm water runoff due to possible overflowing cesspools, sewer, manholes, pesticides, animal fecal matter, dead animals, pathogens, chemicals, and associated flood debris. Not all coastal areas may be impacted by runoff, however, if the water is brown stay out. Continue to practice good personal hygiene and follow-up with your primary care physician if you have any health concerns.

It has been dumping buckets of rain for days now, no swimming for a while.
Lovely description!

Took a drive to the middle of nowhere to see the Christmas lights at the Topaz Mill and store (in Douglas County, Missouri). It’s not the 6.5 million lights they have at Silver Dollar City near Branson, but I like the smaller crowd at Topaz. :D

Wearing an O’Farrell.

Here’s a hat from South Africa that my grandfather bought back in 1950’s I believe. He passed away last year at 86 and this is one of the few things he kept with him for all those years. He gave me this hat a few years before he passed, because I used to be obsessed with this style of hat and wore them 24/7 seven days a week and never took em off, till I started going to a school that didn’t allow hats a real atrocity lol.

I no nothing about the brand and would like to know if anyone out there has any information they could share about the company.

Great, Joe. I don't have much experience with Xs besides a couple of 3x that I owned but I bet the felt on the 7x is super
Thank you Panos. I’ve read from others experiences on the lounge that the felt on Stetson 7XCB and 100s of this era was about as good as you can get. And in hand they are pretty special. I’ve been lucky enough this past year to handle a few different late 40s to early 50s Stetson felts. I was.. over the past couple days… trying to get a feel for what exactly is the difference on the 7XCB felt compared to say Royal Deluxe or Vita felt of similar era. I think probably the first thing of notice in difference is in the hand. The texture of this felt is a bit more smooth than any of my other hats from this time frame. I suspect the felt is a bit more dense as well.

Others with more experience could definitely weigh in.
