The clear blue sky maybe is reflecting a blue cast… the felt is deep dark black.

A hat from the 1950s made in France. Tirard in "Tweed" as described on the paper label.

The felt is of medium consistency in a heather brown with orange hues in the amre of brown-red.
View attachment 383575 Very special ribbon that is in contrast with the color of the felt.

Finished in a superlative way, it belongs to that group of French hats that I bought five years ago and more in a very lucky and irrepitible find

Thanks Joe.Lovely felt, finish and ribbon.
Ah yes.. some do tend to do that more than others. There is actually quite a bit of blue in it. The lighting's not so good in that photo, and it's one of those felts that looks different depending on the conditions.
Thank you kind sir for the complimentsThanks Joe.
Tirard was the first of the French producers to disappear in the 1956.
It has above average quality even in its descending phase. Tirards are now rare to find
Your collection in grown with excellent hats more and more. Bravo!
