You have me drooling, Eric. And the difference between the two is night and day even to the most casual observer :)

This morning has been "Bowler Sunday" in my neighborhood.

I have 2 vintage Stetson bowlers. They are different, although my wife disputed that when I set them out to wear this morning.

A dog soirée was taken in the bowler without a crown marking. It has clever vent holes in the top.

Morning coffee and a jaunt through the yard in the other bowler. Tip marker and a smaller ribbon make this bowler different.

See they are different.

BTW: The black bowlers are showing dust spots. They both need a thorough brushing.

Thanks Stefan. I picked this one up via Facebook Market Place. It's made under license in England, so a Failsworth product. Originally sold at Petitgas in Copenhagen. So all the boxes were ticked for me :)

I'll keep an eye out for one in your size.
Nobody can rain on that wonderful parade, Stefan. Particularly like the Wehrmeier Antilope and the Wegener Seal.
Thanks, Steve.

Nice to see them side by side. For some reason the narrower ribbon is more fitting for a bowler to my eye.

It is spectacular weather here in NYC today—a sunny, mild autumn day—perfect for an unlined and relatively wide-brim (2 5/8) Flechet Essor. Enjoy the day and Happy Halloween.

Good score, Jonathan. Wonderful homburg.

Nice!

Beautiful hat, Bill.

That Misto Montana is fabulous Stephan.
Thanks, Ken. Not as fine a hand as other Barbisio hats, but suits the style well.

My friend is wearing a Champ.
Your friend is all smiles with his Champ! Nice!

This Akubra Fed IV Deluxe is probably the only one in Russia.
Can't be too certain: it's a very big country. Nice hat though (I'll skip the fact that it's green:)).

Though many hats are made of hare…. This cover was hair.

Happy Halloween from Napoleon Dynamite and Deb… we hope all your wildest dreams came true.

My bowler arrived this morning from @steur. Out of the box and on to my head, where it stayed the whole day.

Being my first bowler, I was concerned that I might look comical. Pleased to say I don’t think I looked any more comical than usual.
Etsuko wore a Maxim.

Bowlers are very versatile hats, formal or casual, and yours looks great, Gary.

Yesterday early evening I wore a Gannon Wanderer (silverbelly beaver felt with charcoal trimmings).

Early morning dog soirre in a VS Westin (inspired by the Stetson hat (similar Whippet characteristics/dimensions with an under welt brim treatment).

The silvermist felt is one of the ArtLite felts. Light weight felt with a liner tip. Excellent hat.

Home, change of hat/jacket and a stroll around the property. I changed to a Gannon Wanderer (silvermist beaver felt with charcoal trimmings).

My efforts before sunrise did not capture the details of the hats. Here are some comparison pics of the two Winchester silvermist beaver felt hats.

Playing a little catch-up...

Thursday was a day for a Gannon in Granite and a dog walk.

One of the first days in a while with sunshine. Thangs had been looking more like this.

I don't know what happened to Friday, but as Halloween approched on Saturday, I of course let the Demon out to play.

Wearing my favorite hat,1980s Resistol 7x, while waiting on my fiance's final plasma exchange treatment for guillain barre ( pronounced like beret) syndrome. Long story, but expected to make a full recovery with physical therapy. Not trying to be political, but was told that the covid vaccine has been known to cause guillain barre, which has no cure. Just want people to know, do your research and make informed decisions. If you've had the vaccine and start to experience numbness and tingling in the feet and increasing weakness please be checked. My fiance's wasn't caused by the vaccine but just wanted to share the information.

Congrats Gary, looks great on you. Can see why you didn't want to take it off.
You and Etsuko certainly know how to carry off a hat. And boy, do you eat well :)
