A fine looking hat, Brent.

Trip to the garden center to look at a Dogwood for the front yard. Good time to plant the trees now, getting them a start for spring. Again, bringing more felts out of their summer vacation for winter wear, my stingy brims surfaced. This Italian Borsalino from the early 1960s in Mirtillo (Blueberry) was begging for some sunshine today.

The quality label is redundant. Like we could not figure that the hat was Excellent! It is an excellent fedora on your hat rack.



Steve; This hat is very unique - tall, swoopy, broad and back bow. It really makes you look. Thanks for sharing sir.

This afternoon we set a record for Oct. 20th by receiving 7.5" of snow. The old record of 3.5" was smashed. I struggled on my commute back to work wearing a cap.

Home this evening doing some light snow clearing. I am saving the heavy snow removal for morning. Wearing a Borsalino this evening.

Non-stop rain for days on end now. Felt like a good day for this old wool JC Penney Merrimac for some errands today. It did manage to dodge the heaviest downpours and didn’t get too wet in our travels though.

I’ve been thinking about wearing hats to work. I’m worried about the kids (private primary school teacher) getting all excited and grabby. Anyway, today I demonstrated a “my treasure” show and tell activity I want the kids to do in English. My treasure clearly had to be a hat (it could have been a barbecue, but, you know...logistics!) so I took my vintage Stetson. Wow! What a response - from both the kids and the other teachers. And not too grabby, so I might wear some of my others, too. I’ll save this one for going out, though.

Dog soiree in a 1920's St. Lawernce hat. The St. Lawrence is made by the Wolthausen hat corporation.

Our gray and partially lit sky has the under brim pic better showing the true light gray felt hue.

Thanks, Jared. Two completely different beasts but both excellent in their own way. The Churchill is quite "claylike" but has a magnificent hand to the felt. The Stetson is a mixed felt and has an almost lumpy feel to the felt, but is very light (84 grams) and a joy to wear.
