It’s always time for a barbecue.
I don’t understand these people who talk of a “barbecue season“!

Hey guys... been off From here for a bit. We unexpectedly lost our mother on Wednesday due to COVID-19. My head is definitely spinning quite a bit. I’ll probably be away a bit longer... but I do imagine I will be back sooner than later as this is kind of been a bit of therapy for me these past months... and will likely I will be in need of that outlet soon. That and there are so many great beautiful hats to get to. In the mean time here are a few photos of me and my mom in better times.

Joe- I can’t imagine the grief and sadness you are feeling at this time. Although we don’t know each other, you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers as you travel through the dark days ahead. Tom

Thanks, Jonesy. Alan's are the best, but thanks anyway.

You’ve got quite the museum yourself Max, with some stunners I can vouch for personally.

So sorry to hear this Joe. It’s a deeply complicated experience at any time... in these times even more so. A safe hug to you and your family.

Joe; It is never easy to loose a family member, much less a mother. They always undertand you, even the things you never say out loud. Stay tough Joe. Be safe, be brave, Eric -

Very nice, Perry. Lovely colours.

Excellent, Max. I like the shallow brim flange.
Stopped by Golden Gate Western Wear/Knudsen hats, hoping to grab a can of Kahl's stiffener, but they didn't have any. Bought a horse hair band instead!

VS Stetson refurb
That's a beauty, Jared. I think a borsehair band would look good on it.

Great pic. Really makes me feel the heat!

VS Dualist yesterday. The brim is very light and malleable sand colored felt, and the crown is natural Milan wheat straw. I keep the hat with the brim flat on a table, and the band block used to make it inside. The trade winds have died off for several day now, it is hot and muggy, but the swimming is always good.

Excellent hat, David.

Good morning. Yesterday evening I was enjoying a Stetson unlined Playboy.

This morning a dog soirée found me sport'n a lined Stetson Playboy. I enjoyed some cold brewed coffee post soirée.

I am heading out to remove some weeds from under a couple mature pine trees. A Stetson Stratoliner will be my head protection.

Cheers from an early Minnesota morning. Be safe, be strong and see you on the streets soon, Eric -
Impossible to choose from these fine hats, but if I'd have to, I would go for the Playboy. Love these unlined hats.
A touch too late as the rising sun just cleared the tree line. Knox derby:

Very nice, Jonathan.

Now there's one we don't see every day. Great looking Caxton!

Gorgeous, Max. Unlined, wonderful colours and a textured swatband: great stuff!

This old parabuntal body was purchased rolled in its original bamboo tube - perhaps woven pre WWII. Graham Thompson blocked and finished it for me in a traditional plantation style with center crease and rolled brim. It could use a little touch-up for wrinkles earned over the years (I would benefit from the same treatment) but it is a favorite summer wearer - resilient and light as a feather.

Wonderful, Alan. The best possible use of that hatbody.
