Looks great! Sorry about the sweatband, I’ve had similar experiences caused by water, steam, and even Bick-4 leather conditioner. If the leather is in good condition there isn’t a problem, but it there is dry rot the moisture will shrivel it like bacon. Better to not take the chance.

Thanks everyone for all the kind words yesterday for the coat and stuff.
Much appreciated.
Today...this hat would have paired much better with yesterday’s coat, which i had intended. But, i was wearing a white hat to ward off the bad JuJu of late.
So....here’s a very fine wide brimmed tall crown’d, hairy beast of a hat, gilled and feathered, Stetson 3X Fifteen.
It just looks warm sitting there.

Thank you, Stefan. We had a great date, even though the food was less than stellar. The family that launched the 4G chain has about 6 locations now. Location one closed years ago, due to highway expansion. We went to location two, which was once awesome. Sad to say, they've been resting on their laurels. We'll be trying those managed by the next generation from here on out.

Very pleasing if a hat comes back to life with just some brushing and some steam. I think we've all had the experience of a sweatband falling apart under our hands. Sometimes they just can't be saved.

Loving the hairy beast! The font used for “Stetson Fifteen” on the sweat is something I associate with 1940s hats. Do you know if there’s any direct correlation?
