I hope everyone had a peaceful weekend. Trying to catch up with all the fantastic headwear from last week. Winter is has finally caught up to us here in the Philadelphia metropolitan area. Fuzzy hat weather indeed.

Quite a rich looking hat. Definitely gives off a warm and fuzzy feeling for the City of Brotherly love.

Today.....i just came in from the out and grabbed some shots while the tiny tornado, Willow, slept. Good girl!!
Baby it’s cold outside, so i’m doing my best @Michael A imitation by bringing out the bear beast. Sounds better than sheep beast.
Several sheep gave their all for the coat and a few beaver for the hat. Thank you.
Yesterday was a black hat day....today it’s a sugar white Knox Forty’s take on an OR.
Be well. Bowen

That is a great cold weather coat.

Wow. Your conversions are grand! I do like it without the binding edge.

You sport a beret well. Great hats of late. Your lightweight VS inspired a lightweight VS of mine. A thank you has been long in the coming - thanks.

Cold is right - stay warm sir.

The VS touch is glorious. Sharp hats the past days sir.

A Simonds Cap was my choice for doing shopping errands this morning. This Streamlined model drew compliments from the grocery store checkout line.

Once home I have started up the grill for lunch for my wife and dog. A vtg. Stetson Playboy has up to the task.

Best, Eric -
Great choices today, as usual, Eric. Is it warming in MN this week, or are you just becoming acclimated? I noticed you shed your coat.

Thank you all for your likes and compliments yesterday, we very much appreciate it !

Brent, I guess it's because they own the style since the first one appeared as a woman's hat. Fact is, they always look better with just about everything in our eyes :)

Sunny today and pretty much the perfect winter day imo: sun and cold enough to wear my scarfs, coats and hats ;) Wearing one that I picked up just yesterday

Panos has hair. I suspect a number of us are folicaly challenged.
It does look like a pretty perfect day in progress.
Congrats on landing the navy blue chapeaux. I have one, but didn't even know it until I brushed it and put it on over a black suit!

I’ll save the naphtha bath for a more deeply soiled, or light colored hat.

All it took was low compressed air blasts, a brushing, a damp cloth and steam shaping to bring this hat back to its glory days.
I’ll say this: Though I have had no problems using water to clean or promote the stretch of vintage sweats in the past, lately, I have ruined two sweats with it. I’ll never use water again.
Leather conditioner and a rag only.
With this hat and sweat the cold water didn’t completely ruin it but shrunk and cracked portions of it. [emoji35][emoji35][emoji35]
Maybe you guys can learn from my recent astonishing experience.

Yep.
Been there; done that. I didn't order the T shirt. I could also wear the dumb a!# shirt for trying to sneak steam into the inside of more than one crown.
Expensive lessons may be the best teachers.
It breaks my heart most when I ruined a non-reeded sweat, or two. You have to change the dynamic of the hat, or master a largely lost art.

The protocol you described should really be embraced before a gas bath anyway. Why fill your solution with excess filth?
