Attended the funeral of a friend from church today. He collapsed a few days ago and couldn't be revived. I'm still in shock about it.

I wore my Mallory Ten Homburg from @NewJack This cell phone camera is getting terrible with the washed out pics. Sorry about that.

With its snug fit and short brim my Cavanagh was a good choice for a trip out to the inlet on this beautiful but windy day.

Even still I had to grab it off a couple times to avoid it taking a swim!

Some photos my wife snapped

Very nice, I like the stitch pattern on it. I had a list somewhere of what all of the different stitch patterns symbolized on the Aran Sweaters, but I'll have to find it.

Looking good as always !!
In Scotland each fisherman would wear a unique stitch pattern or unique collar treatment on their sweaters so in the event of a capsize they could more easily identify the body if recovered

Very cool, I did read that somewhere. Seems that there were also unique patterns for the various Clans.

I was in a maritime museum in Buckie, Scotland this September and they had a display of sweaters with an explanation of the meaning of the differentiation of pattern/stitches.

Awesome, I hope you had some good Whisky while you were there ! That is definitely on my Bucket List.

not to hijack the thread but the whisky tasting was one of the highlights. We went off season and the distillery visitor's centres were quiet so the bartenders had lots of time to talk. And most of them love to talk about whisky.

Thanks Joe. They did seem to play together rather well. Been wearing it all day while I did a little work around the place.

Thanks,
Michael

You are looking good in that hat, Doug, despite the tough situation. Hope you are feeling better, too. Prayers all around.
