Thanks, Steve. This Stetson opera topper isn't as luscious as your silk plush, but it did elicit quite a bit of positive feedback this weekend while I was out and about. One guy at the grocery store must have approached me half a dozen times to comment on it.

Thanks, Stefan. The coat was gifted to me after a church service many years ago when I was still at university. A parishioner had been staring me down and then approached me after services. He said he had a coat to give to me. At the time I thought it was a little strange but I said OK.

Fast forward a week and he gives me this overcoat, saying that he had developed "dad bod" so it didn't fit him anymore. It had been hanging in his closet for a few years and was pretty much in as new condition. It's nothing flashy but it's 100% wool, fits well, and is full length, so it's perfect for the winters here. Easily one the best gifts I've ever received and it came from a stranger.

I've actually been looking for quite some time for a brown version. (Need to coordinate my overcoat with my brown/tan/green shaded hats after all.) Turns out I just so happened to purchase one this morning from eBay. Slightly different detailing but still double breasted, 100% wool, and full length. Measurements are pretty much to the nuts as my current grey one, so I'm excited. Supposed to arrive by the end of the week. I think I will have to bust out the long hair evergreen Dobbs for the occasion.

A VS (dove beaver felt with charcoal ribbon treatment) was my gray thin ribbon fedora choice.

This morning I opened up the front pinch to where it was when I got it. Normally I like a fairly tight front pinch, but it just wasn't working for this hat - not enough crown. Now it is overall more proportional.

Wearing my modified Stetson Roadster. I wasn't happy with the thin leather hat band, so I replaced it with a 1 inch ribbon.

4 1/2 inch crown height and 2 1/2 inch brim.
