You do wear the tall crown well, and I love that bow treatment.

I went with an homage to my alma mater, Oregon State University. The closest to the Orange and Black was a nice bronze and black with a charcoal ribbon.

I wear them often. Of all the hats I wander around in the general public with, the stiff felts get the most looks. Stiff ones rule!

Out for a couple of errands before our trip tomorrow. Thanksgiving in northern Washington. Brrrrr. Grab and go hat was a Italian Barbisio in a nice floppy felt. This hat has a mind of it's own when it comes to a crease. This one has no model name, and is probably 1960s vintage, but with the brim and felt of a much older hat. Don't know how connected I'll be over the next week, so...Happy Thanksgiving fellow Loungers. I'm trying to be better about posting, baby steps.

Thanks, Michael. This is usually a good time of year for crappie at this lake, but this year it's been not so much. I've been 3 of the last 4 weekends with no luck, and met no one else having any either. I did hook a big channel cat a few weeks back, but nothing today. This spot' s only about 6 miles from my house, so fish or no fish it's still a nice spot to get away to easily.

I've been riding my bike past a spot on the river that has had a lot of fishermen lately and I finally stopped and asked them what they were fishing for. Crappies.

Bespoke Navy fedora in beaver made by Mike Gannon of Portland OR. I forgot how tall the crown of this one towers. Spiffed up for church this morning, and it was speaking to me.

Yes, they were a pretty big name through the 50s and 60s. Botany 500 was out of New York, but Daroff did the manufacturing in Philadelphia.

Yep you're right. It was located just notth of the North Broad st. station on the Reading Railroad. Imposing building with a Botany 500 sign that must have been 40X40 feet.
