As I mentioned, it was a day of many hats here today. Out in the rain on the bike for a couple of hours under the Filson Tin Cloth packer

Then dried off under this Marathon

Then I had to try out a new western suit so it was this Resistol Hi-7

And now I'm sitting here under an OR, but no photos, fortunately.

Have a good evening. Think it's about bedtime here,
Michael

Last night we enjoyed our local community theater's "Big Night" this evening. Patty (the wife) won a crew member award for being Light Master for Addams Family. I broke out the custom "Olcott" 1912 style homburg for the formal event. This hat is an homage to an image I found in the OSU Archives. The Hon. Ben Olcott was on the board or Regents for Oregon Agricultural College at the turn of the last century. I had Mike Miller of NW Hats recreate the hat just as it was in 1912.

I wore the Champ Featherweight this cool morning. I chose the hat not for the "Featherweight" felt, un-lined features or glorious ribbon treatment. I did choose the hat as it was on the top of my "hat rack" ready to pick-up and wear for a dog soiree.

Lovely hat on a lovely Fall morning.

Feeling on top this morning, Eric -
Your "grab and go" hats are always top notch Eric. I just love the "pug" ribbon treatment on this one. You are the best!

Sharp, Red! I always liked that homburg. I know you made quite a splash last night. Congratulations to Patty.

I like yours better than Olcott's.

Nice to see the Olcott again. I've been missing seeing that lovely hat.

Here’s the fedora I’m proud to wear this morning. it’s the one I previously showed
in the process of “building” from a wide brimmed western hat. I finished sewing on the 1 1/2 ribbon and bow at 1:00 am.
I wore it to our homecoming Church service today with no compliments from anyone...but at least no one said, Hey! Where’d you get that ugly hat?!
Since I couldn’t find an old post in the fedora lounge, or at you tube on how to sew on a ribbon bow I had to wing it yet again. I’ve accomplished the task four times now using my own redneck methods. A different method each time and probably none of them correct, though I hope you all approve of the end result. I’m sure there is an old post somewhere at the Lounge, but I couldn’t find it. Oh well, I do not ever wish to try this again as it is very hard to do for a novice. Can I get a witness out there?

After a 3 a.m. call to go check on a flooded construction site, I'm finally home and enjoying a cup of coffee in a Beaver Brand western that I picked up a few months back. Hope all y'all have a relaxing Sunday.

I haven't had to leave my bed at 3 A.M. since Toradol came out. Too bad you can't just throw a couple of 'em at flooded construction sites.
