Thanks, Michael. I think I might indeed like wearing suede breeches. I'll put that with the reserves for the bucket list.
Here in Colorado I'd probably have to wear long ones with fringe up the side.
I already have the hat to go with them.

Good morning. Morning dog soiree in a Stetson Twenty. Love the Mode Edge treatment on this green hat.

Best, Eric -
Excellent, Eric! The edge, brim, bash, and that ribbon .... it is large, and in the color spectrum that gives me heart palpitations.

The third of the Holland batch of hats via Stefan. The first two were English, this one, German from the Resolut Hutfabrik.

The high crown and wide brim, plus the dapper top hat wearing gent on the liner appealed to me.

This is indeed a Homburg that will not go unnoticed out and about.

We may be wearing similar colors today, Brent. With the recent chatter about Gannon Nutria, thought I'd dig out my old standby this morning for a few minutes outside in the Texas heat. Granite and Slate beaver.

I feel like a conspiracy is afoot to drive me crazy with ribbons in my favorite color range.
I better stop scrolling before I end up searching pickclick again.

Well, the pain got me out of bed at 05:30, so I will hunt and peck my first WHAYWT post in a long time. Since it is such an effort to type effectively, know that when I like a post, it is my best effort. I would hope that everyone will dig into their archives to find your favorite complement from me and apply it to the "like". They all came from my heart!

It was bright and sunny last evening so I got some pictures of the Mallory XV that I was wearing around the house. Selfies are quite challenging, bear with me for a while.

I realized today I have a lot of hat's I've never shared, but everyone might enjoy seeing. So I'm going wear some, at least briefly.

First is a newer Stetson called the "Pea Souper". It's a fabric braid in something like nylon. I believe it's a rain hat.

Second is a suede Dobbs with a wonderful smooth hand. It wears well brim up or down and has a nice leather belt band.

Last, but surely not least, a great Beaver Brand De Luxe that seems to change colors. In a lot of lighting it appears like navy with just a few drops of turquoise mixed in, and the ribbon appears a very dark steel grey, patina'd as I learned today from Eric. In certain lighting you would swear it was a green blue, and that the ribbon also has shades of green.

I spoke by phone with Kolby at Tatton Baird. I then sent her an email with my contact info & pics of styles I like. She is emailing me more information about customs & anything on the store rack in my size. I didn't ask about felt sourcing but we were talking about the 100X. I wear the same size as Chandler so I told her I would buy his hand-me-downs!

What an amazing little shop. I was met by Covi and we began the 2 hr process of ordering my new western weight beaver hat. About 30 minutes in Chandler showed up and helped with the decision process. Very knowledgeable and charismatic gentlemen. My final choice was an OD Moss with chocolate brim binding and hatband 3 1/4" brim and 4 1/8" crown with center valley. Afterwards he took the OR style Country gentlemen by tatton I wore there and reflanged it, tweaked the brim shape and made it fit a little better to my head. He gave a full tour of his shop and explained his hat making process. He told me my Country gentleman from ebay is a dress weight pure beaver and knew exactly who he made it for. Here's a few pics of his shop and him tweaking my hat.

Very nice people Chandler and Covi. Such great customer service and I really like his stuff. Boy, all the hat stories he can tell. He told me all about why hats have those little bows at the back of the sweatband . Cool story. I related it in another thread . ;)
Covi, I misunderstood her to say Kolby. I'll be sure & correct that & apologize to her next time. I haven't received a reply yet to my email but it was just today that I spoke with her. Had I known you were probably there at the same time...

lol..... I also picked up a custom made leather campaign style hatband, a Tatton Baird tshirt, and ordered a custom ($40) round horsehair brush and got to pick the handle wood grain and color, Covi makes them by hand and she'll mail it with my hat. I forgot to get a photo before I left. :(

I asked about the brushes & she told me $45.00 but she may have been including shipping. I didn't buy one.
