Thanks Bama! We're in west Texas so no risk if flooding here, the type they get in Houston anyways. Just localized flash flooding. We only get about 13 inches a year but boy you otta be here the day we get it!

Whenever I sign into the Lounge on my laptop, like now, unlike Tapatalk, it starts me at page one of threads. If I ran into that hippo on the street I would recognize it.

Curl em, B. I did. What I've found, especially on the older, heavy westerns like the Nutria, if they were worn a lot the heavy brims may not hold a shape, even after ironing. The curl may add some stability. It did on mine. Plus, I like the look. Had to stop or all of my westerns would end up with one.

That's funny, because when I read Bowen's post about probably the No.1, but not the Boss, I thought it might be hard to stop once you got started.

Took only one hat with me on tour in the Black Hills this week, and decided to spend my hat budget on a pair of boots while on the road.
You’re likely to be seeing a lot of this Greeley Hat Works Western homburg in the next several days. made a few friends along the way. One sad brown bear cub, in particular, looked like he could use a little cheering up. I think the hat helped for a moment.

That is a cool looking hat for hot muggy day. Has an aire about it similar to a Frank Lloyd Wright style hat.

Thanks Ken. If I recall that hat is the only one I found in the Goodwill Halloween hat bin last year.

Today it's a Biltmore President, at least until the rain starts up.

Jeff, an old cowboy once said, "put the best you can on your head and your feet. What's in between don't matter so much".

That is a fine hat and from what I can see, some good looking boots as well.

Three hats arrived from Holland this week. Here's one of them. A Patterson & Co Trilby. I know nothing about this company other than it's English.

I liked the look and shape of this one, so just had to buy it. Thankfully, Stefan thought I should , too [emoji4]

A man that wears the hats you do needs some boots and now you've got a good looking pair in a flexible color. That style toe bug/flower is my favorite. Good looking heel.

Roll Tide, indeed.

I have found that once you have the roll started well, as you describe, you can get close to a finished look using your iron by placing the hat on a hard surface, I repurposed a piece of countertop when we updated. Place your form inside the roll and hold it in place with your fingers and with the iron on its edge, roll it across the damp brim towards the crown while you try like hell to keep your fingers out of the way. Turn the steam OFF! Trust me. Doing this helps reduce the 'pie' pinch lumps as well.
