Hey all!
The filtered sunlight helps bring out the green undertones of this circa turn-of-the-millenium Borsalino Como, my first nice fur felt. At 81g and $3 to the thrift store it is my lightest felt, not only on the head but also on the wallet.

Nice thrift store find, Moe. I'd offer you thrice as much, but I think that Borsalino was made for you.

Good to see you back and sharing [emoji4]

I bought this hat back in the 80's. My original boot scootin', shit kickin' cowboy hat. Milano 10X. Dug it out and took it to Nathaniels in Georgetown for a new sweatband, cleaning, and reblock. Went from an old time cattleman crease to a new mini-gus and went from a raw edge to having a new black thin ribbon around the brim. He found a cool leather and brass concho hatband to finish it off. He works magic with felt. Love this "new" look on a 30+ yr old hat. Looks brand new and fits better than ever sized with his conformer.

Thanks Steve!
It might not have been made FOR me, but it has been the recipient (or victim?) of much reshaping and reforming of the crown and brim by me, so it's almost like a custom...

I love green, I adore wide ribbons, I have a penchant for back bows, and my heart will always belong to Battersby Hats of Manchester.

Therefore, this 1940s model was a must for this evenings walk around the coast of Elsinore.

The liner is not stitched nor glued, but just loosely fitted.

Oh my! That is one of the widest ribbons I’ve seen. It’s not something I’d want on all my hats, but it looks great on your green Battersby! Most excellent.

Thanks, Brent. It is truly wide, but as you say, it suits this particular Battersby.

Insomnia for the second night in a row. Unusual for me, but what a great opportunity to post the Stetson mode edge I wore today (yesterday) even though I hardly left the house.
I could get used to finding vintage fedoras like this one.
