Good morning. Moving fallen limbs from under trees required a felt hat on this steamy warm morning. A vintage Stetson Bantam got clean-up duty this morning. Straw for the remainder of the day.

Is it actually intended as protection for fire fighting or is that just a sugguested feature of the garment?

Well, my number came up....off for jury selection I go in my favorite straw. You guessed it, that's not my happy face today. The whole morning will be sitting in a crowded room with about 200 other potential jurors, Austin is a pretty big town and the Texas justice system is a very bizarre process.

Two super hats, Stefan. The Borsalino speaks for itself. I really like the look of the Rothschild. Nice wide ribbon and large bow.

Wearing my Whiskey 3X Resistol refurb this evening. It's been torn down and reblocked. The brim was also trimmed and reshaped. It sports a tall straight crown that's creased to my preferred Teardrop. Everything original to the hat was reused....and it now has a Longhair finish. I'll have more later in The Conversion Corral and in the Western Anyone threads...

That hat will guarantee you'll be on the jury. No doubt a man with that hat will have integrity and, with the band, show that he's open to arguments on both sides of the courtroom. You should have worn a "crazy" hat.

Yes, I believe it is a vintage Japanese firefighter's coat, though I expect they use higher tech gear today.

Thank you Steve! I wish I liked the color as well as you. I can't say that I've actually warmed up to it very much. I like the way it turned out and it's a nice hat but I just can't get pass the color. Although Ive seen the color on other people and it looks good on them...just not on me.

Thanks WK. You've get a great looking hat and outfit on today. Bummer about the jury duty. I almost had it last summer and then they settled the case the day before it would have started. So I'm safe for another year or so now.
