A horse of a different color today. Demon Hanover number two. This one in a greyish color on an overcast Monday morning.

Fantastic OR BB! I'm envious.

Thanks, HJ. It is a great hat and probably my favorite OR with a debate brewing about a Royal that just came my way. May be time for a side by side. You've no reason to be envious as that Moore speaks to me in every way but size. Don't know what we'd call the color of that Moore but it is a creamy white.

Supposed to be near perfect weather all day. Will have to get out and about. Or do yard work. Tough call.

Definitely a hat of a different color based on lighting! Looks great with your outfit, too.

That one is particularly nice, Michael. I really enjoy the blue heather, or so it appears on my screen.

Stetson 4X with Last Drop liner, for a pleasant morning walk, followed by coffee, and trying to hide from the allergens.

These westerns suit you, Jeff. The profile pic shows just how much. Waiting to see one on stage. As to the allergens, it's a constant state of suffering from them here in the TN Valley. Even a couple of my hounds suffer from airborne allergens.

Bright and sunny for the next week or so. For a trip to Costco, I figured to turn some heads a Boater was in order. This one is made by Pedigree, sold at a small men's store chain in Washington. Dating is based on the locations of the store, probably early 1950s. Love the details in the weave of this one. Still relatively pain free (my hip still hurts...) hoping for this to stay around. That is a super spiffy boater, Red. Love that shiny straw.

Thanks Randy. Your Medalist looks like a great summer hat. I'll be looking for straw again by the afternoon.

Thanks Jeff. Yes, it is a blue and grey heather. Your 4X looks right at home on the plains. You have that shaping finely tuned. Great hat.

Thanks all,
Michael

Going to see the vampire this morning for some lab work. A quick grab and go with my Mike Miller refurbished Dobbs Rainbow. This one is a companion to my Gamebird of the same early 60s vintage. Both are very similar, nice pairing. I appreciate these hats from the waning era of hat making. Full features, guild edge, great felt and spiffy liners (although not embroidered) are what early 60s hats are all about.

Forgive my memory lapse, did I miss you getting a second Demon? Did you spend the $1500 for that one on Ebay? Sure do love these unique pieces of history.

I like all the colors this hat develops. Something about blue hats...

Stetson 4X with Last Drop liner, for a pleasant morning walk, followed by coffee, and trying to hide from the allergens. Who knows what the rest of the day will bring?

A recent acquisition from a fellow lounger. A 60's era 7X. He had taken the original ribbon off, and put on a wide one. I thought I'd put the original back on, but the fading over time left it looking stripped! So I made a quick run to Buckaroo Hatters Saturday, and Rocky was good enough to find a nice ribbon and attach it for me. And I think, he did a great job. Thanks Rocky. You can still see a bit of the fading, but I don't think enough to distract too badly. It wears good and that's all I really care about. There's not a lot that can be done to me look better anyway!!
