Nice ones all around, gentlemen and ladies. Keep the parade coming, I always enjoy seeing the hats!

First time wearing this Supernatural Milan from the Ecuadorian Panama Hat Company. I had to re-stitch the sweatband yesterday. The thread on sweatband installation saved the day.

Haven’t been in much of a hat mood the last few days, as I had to lay my poor Tasha to rest.
Sitting on my deck without my furry companion this morning, but with my Falcon Park lawless reproduction.
You all look great and are showing some incredible lids.
Thanks for the distraction.

Today....confessions of a hat addict, hoarder...whatever.
I am sitting dwelling on having just committed to selling one of my hats. I’ve never sold one of the kids. It’s one of my 7X CB ORs.
That hurts just to say it!
I don’t have anyone to talk to about it, the dog ignored me, cruel dog, thus the post.
I feel like the dam has broken and damn, it feels weird. It’s not the money, it’s not like i’m deprived, just depraved i guess.
Thanks, i feel better.

Knox, old, light as a feather and you all may recognize the signature crease.
No, that’s not a wind trolley, it’s ribbon.
Be well. Bowen

But don't they warn ya?
It pours, man, it pours.
I'm praying for rain in California
So the grapes can grow and they can make more wine.
It's ok Bowen, You'll be alright. It's ok to be vulnerable every once in a while.
That is so true. When I was in theatre, awaiting my hip replacement, I was scared witless. The theatre nurse must have picked up on my vibes, she just curled her fingers around mine, squeezed, and whispered in my ear. "Don't worry, you don't have to be a big brave soldier." That did me a power of good.

My heartfelt grief for you and your family. Prayers for peace and closure during your time of mourning.

Thank you. We all seem to be holding up well. I know we'll experience a lot of lonely, heartbreaking times when we realize our lonliness is real, and we won't see her again this side of glory. We're a close family though, in our hearts, and will support one another.

what color is that?
Stetson?

Same as yours, grasshopper, or a shade variant thereof. AFIK all of the 7X CB's produced in this color range were referred to as silverbelly, or clear beaver, as it were. I have two, a decade or so apart, and though the felt is similar in feel for the both of them there is a slight variation in color. Silverbelly will often appear as tan, gray, beige and other hues within that range. One of the great effects that lighting has on vintage hat felt.

Stetson is the only producer of the XXXXXXX Clear Beaver.

It seems like suffering loss and grieving os having its way with a few of us lately.
It has thrown off my eBay game drastically
Yesterday I completely forgot about the JC Penny large brim I had decided to bid hard on.

Today I was determined to shoot hard at the No Name pencil curl, and never even slapped leather.
I feel like I'm wearing a dunce cap.

So sorry for your loss, Jeff. Let that sunshine and the shade provided by a great hat sooth your loss as you reflect on the fine times you had with a great hound.

Sorry to hear this, Jeff. From your posts, Tasha sounded like a good pup.

Great hat Jeff, but sorry to hear the news about Tasha.

Jeff; Very sorry Jeff. The loss of a true friend is never easy. Dogs have special places in our hearts. I am thinking of you this morning.

A vtg. Stetson Playboy in pine green was my hat choice this morning. I am enjoying the morning contrary to my facial expression in the hat pic.

Best, Eric -

So sorry Jeff. I know that heartbreak. After i put down my Malamute, Mariah, took me 25 years to get another companion. People are people but a good dog, we all learn how to live from. So sorry.
Bowen

Sorry to hear about your loss, Jeff. I can’t imagine a life without my animals, but they can sure break your heart when they move on. Two years ago we had to say goodbye to our lab: none of my children could remember a time he wasn’t with us. He raised my kids as much as I did. He listened to my fears and worries and never judged me. Complete and total unconditional love. I still get choked up.

Thank you guys. Tasha was the best. I couldn't have asked for a better friend. At 14-15 years old (nobody is sure exactly, but she was with me for 13), she was shutting down rapidly. I understand that's a pretty good run for a husky. It was almost like watching time lapse before my very eyes. I very much appreciate your comments.

Today I went with a twill flat cap; one with actual snap. I remember my dad having a couple of these when I was in grade school.
It's black because this morning we went to the hospital to say our final farewells to my sister, again. It was time for them to part her out to give other people a future. I could have done without it.
I cleaned my black felts last night, intending to share them with my brother-in-law, brother and nephew for mourmins sake, and I also have three black women's felts that are like loose bowlers with monochrome trims. The may actually be made as mourning hats.
We were supposed to be there at 5:30, but my wife thought it was 6:00 and woke me late. I knew everyone else would have already gone to the room when we arrived, so nixed felt and grabbed something else black.
I've never been very excited about flat caps, but like this one.

My sentiments to you and your family. My wife's sister just recently died suddenly at the age of 34. She was being kept "alive" for a few days, so I know what you mean by saying your farewells. We take great comfort in knowing that through her organ donation, a part of her is able to live on and help save other people's lives. Take care.

Nice smile.
After Johnny Ringo, our last dog, died, I resisted another for a long time. I was missing my old friend.
My wife didn't give up and now Sundance (AKA; "The Kid") is as loyal a friend as Ringo was. Time has a way of softening things, despite what we think.
