What’s the story with this hat. Can you fill in the details. Demonic?

It's a Demon Hanover. Jim's got two, and I have one. Mine was moth-riddled, but I bought it mostly for the beautiful liner, which I promptly transferred to another hat. If I remember correctly, all three hats cost less than $200, but there's a seller on eBay who just lowered the asking price on his from $2000 to $1600. A bargain!

Here are Jim's pics of his first Demon, which he justifiedly reaaallly likes, used without his permission, of course. [emoji6]
Apparently, he forgot that he already has the box.

The box is not mine, sadly.

Sent directly from my mind to yours.

Errands today in a 40s Champ. A few light rust(?) stains and mothing remain after cleaning, as well as the egregious marking of the satin liner by a former custodian, but it's a sweet little grab-n-go favorite. Not a tall crown to my way of thinking, but a real nice 2-3/4" brim to block glare from the winter sun.

Can't fault these Champ hats, Doug. Classic, reliable and looking good.

I should have said $10 MSRP. I think I spent about 10 times that. I think this might actually be the one hat I spent the most on. I was going to go laid back on the clothes front today, but then I needed some pants I could blouse into my new old 9" boots. Ha ha. I got a couple of compliments on them anyway, and one on the boots.

Lovely hat. I like the play of the binding and felt a lot.

Thanks,
Michael
Still money well spent I'd say. Nothing wrong with the pants mind you, but they will get you noticed (and they did). Thanks for the like on the Breiter. Very prolific retailer that one and still existing today.

Fantastic Barbisio you have there, Max. I knew you wouldn't be disappointed with the felt. Yours has a better shape and proportions than mine, which has a shorter brim and more taper to the crown.

The beauty of those pants, in the eye of this beholder, is that they are 28 oz wool. Very warm. And that has been a high priority here this winter.

Got the Mallory memo yesterday, so the homburg fifteen got a spin. Thanks go out to Brent, who found this one.

Lovely hat. Great binding color.

Brutally cold again this morning. Charles Knox long hair is warm, but not up to the job in the long term.

I like it with the black hat.
Have a fine Sunday,

Sunny and colder, more of past days. We are in full Carnival, but we have already talked about it.

Homburg built in France in the 30s or 40s of the last century. Size is 60 cm. or 7 1/2 Us
wivckx.jpg

The hat, denominated in French "Diplomatique", was produced by Antonin - France. Chapeaux de luxe. A brand I'm unable to trace on the documents I have collected about French hats producers

The felt is very light and finished without lining. Ribbon and garnish of the brims are tone on tone. Felt is very soft and can be manipulated at will.

This is part of the homburgs I bought in Strasbourg some years ago. New and unworn
