A Mayser homburg for a day with a foggy sun

This was one of the various exchange with Stefan in Netherlands

Thick felt and very well matched the steel grey with ribbon and curled brim in a more clear grey, almost silver

I like the more "square" shape then some more "rounded" homburg

This is my contribution to the "homburg nation" not so much haunted in these days

Thanks to Stefan I wear this so particular homburg for the italian standards

Another day of foggy sun, but it is the big Carnival in Verona. The 489th edition

Not a mask only a Borsalino Qualità Extra Superiore size 6 or 59 or 7 3/8 US

The color is the super classic "Amiata" and the type is "Goraita"

Felt is very soft and with a medium hair finish. Very unusual the shape. Bob has one with same shape, but not with hair

Sold in Parma - Italia, it seems made in the sixties.

A beautiful choice for carnivale. I think I have mentioned my fond memories of our winter visit to Putignano in 2001. They date their carnivale tradition to 1394 I think. Old stuff for us newbies in the new world. Salute Daniele!

This is yet another thing that left me awe struck when I visited Italy. Celebrations, old homes, etc., that are all much older than anything to do with the United States as a country.

While in Mezzocorona, we visited the home of a man, and his wife, who was a principle in the Mezzacorona winery. Ah, Teroldego. Anyway, his wife drove us through town and pointed out the home where her husband was born; it was around 600 years old. Wow! Nestled there in the pre-Alps (?) mountains. Spectacular!
