Tirard Ragondia in black, size 6 1/2 (French sistem) or 7 1/2 US

"Impermeable" with a "peachy felt finish and very soft. Bounded brim

It is a hat from the early fifties or late forties as Tirard was the first to close (1956) of the great French historical producers

I'm lucky with the French hats in black, one of my favorite colors, less with the Italian ones

Gotcha. It makes me want to find other hats with wide flattish brims (with or without the curl) and yet uncreased crowns. What is the period, exactly? And if I may ask, which two hats were those you posted as examples?
I think of these as 1920's - 1930's Western dress hats. Dress Westerns were starting to get fedora-like. You need a 3" brim, a 3x6 body in a Block #664 (666?) or #52 will work, I think. A 2-1/2" or 2-3/4" brimmed Open Road will not look right.

Mine are customs. The natural is a Gannon, the blue Heather is a BSHW.

Thanks for the comments and "likes" on my hat posting the past couple of days. Grand hat parade from all posters.

"Captain Obvious," our local weatherman, warned us that we are experiencing a snow fall with additional measurable snow fall coming thru the day. Let it snow!

This morning I was removing snow in a vintage Lee Commentator. Excellent hat even with a dusting of snow.

Wind, cold and snow this morning;B.E.1858 beret.

The beret has you well stead-ed to fight off the cold. Stay warm and safe.

The storm is moving out. It has to because another one has an appointment to see us Saturday. Wearing a Knox Westlite Open Road clone, not very good for shoveling snow.

You have had large quanities of snow rolling in of late. Ski areas are pleased, while driveways are not. After the snow fall the temps drop - stay warm and safe.

Yet another job interview. This time with the Gannon natural.
