Vintage Champ for errands and dinner date with the wife.
I kinda wonder where Willow got that red, wavy hair from.View attachment 151201 View attachment 151202 View attachment 151203 Greetings All:
Today....i picked a hat to match my coat for baby watching duty.
So...vintage blue Borsalino to go with a vintage CG peacoat to go with a sick Willow.
Be well. Bowen
I didn't know your eyes are blue, Doug. You're always wearing glasses in your pics.Stopped by a few hat shops today. Ok, 4 hat shops. Nothing super high grade to write home about, except a Montecristi someone picked up and is now reselling for $1500. Super fine weave, it looked like linen instead of straw.
Sandra and I just picked up a couple stingy brim semi calados for us and were ready to check out when I saw this tall glass of water in the corner... it looks like my daughter's Resistol Ambush IIRC.
This is my hat before I had them add a dark navy pug, standing next to Diana, executive secretary/assistant to the VP at Homero Ortega... in a back room stuffed with hats. I dubbed the room cielo, or heaven, but my wife called it the candy store.

Thanks for sharing your hats of late Steve. They are always eye catchers. Todays post with the advertisement causes me to spend time reviewing the picture. The artist renditions showing individuals, portraying emotions and the many details make favorite moments of pause for me. I can imagine the woman curious to the attention the news is receiving. I empathize with the patience of the dog and can easily infer the prospective it provides to the drawing. Thanks for providing me a moment.C. G. Wilke Hutfabrik Velour possibly 1920s maybe earlier.
I assume there was a liner at one time.
Notice a Hare / Rabbit is part of the sweatband logo. C. G. Wilke (Guben, Germany established 1822) was originally just a Wool Hat Factory but added a Fur Felt factory in the later 1800s.
Wilke Hüte advert circa 1929.

Bill your hat is truly glorious. Wearing that hat would make errands easier I think.
Not hats, but caps: A cap (Well Dressed Head) and I went auto shopping yesterday. This afternoon I took a cap (Cordova) out to lunch.
Best to all, Eric -
That is absolutely the most incredible stiff felt on the Lounge Alan. It fits right in with your high end collection. Love it.
Favaro (Venetian dialect) is fabbro (blacksmith) in italian language. In Alessandria, home of the Borsalino, "favaro" has no meaning. Thanks Alan! I wish found somenthing like this "bombetta" on the Italian market every week!
Can't say as I've seen anything quite like that one, Alan. Good show.
Very smart looking cap Charlie. Yes, I can't wait for Eric's photos of his new classic. We all live vicariously through his hats and automotive choices.Today I'm following Eric's (@Short Balding Guy) lead into the world of caps, hoping to follow his purchase of that early '70s GTO...

On my bucket list Jim. I like this ones brim binding and ribbon color. Super Stetson indeed!Royal Deluxe Stetsonian.
Sent directly from my mind to yours.
You need to build a separate garage facility like Jay Leno. Love the pattern on that cap.Glad I could inspire Charlie. Unfortunately no new car purchase for me. New car in would mean a car would have to go out. I can not let go of my "woody" to pick-up a new summer ride - yet.
I certainly could never ask my wife to trade in her new car that I picked up for her this past summer.
I need to stay out of vintage car shops. Easiest way to save is not to shop. I think I will head out for a dog walk.
The wind is howling - I am sport'n the same cap as yesterday afternoon.

Which Akubra straw model is this? I've seen them before and coveted it greatly. It is good to start thinking about straws in January to ward off the winter blues. Very nice.Recent summer Akubra purchase and just breaking it in
This hat is for an upcoming cruise and will also be a feature when my wife and I go to a white party
May have a few more of those photos to share when I return

I like it, bring a few back for the rest of us. Yes, the Ortega back room would be heaven, or hell for your wallet!Stopped by a few hat shops today. Ok, 4 hat shops.
