Both of those Carltons are really nice!

This is the younger brother of the Carlton in the classified
293j1o0.jpg

Size is 60 or 7 1/2 and this is a little wide for me, so the 61 or 7 5/8 is a large one for its size
2mfgi9f.jpg

It was made at least seventy years ago by J&B one of the most high level quality French producers
348oh9f.jpg

The felt color "Auburn" is a really interesting deep brown, see pictures with the sun to have the right color shade
o8gb3p.jpg

The felt is an excellent example of malleability, The finish is of first quality
2hfrhxv.jpg

So you have the Carlton as it is on a head :)
Thanks for the likes of yesterday Borsalino!

I’m a day late and probably more than a dollar short lately! I went Borsalino twice yesterday, with the Alessandria and the Marque Grand Luxe. Both great hats. Unfortunately, since I really like this Alessandria so much, I am now going to have to keep my eyes open for one without moth bites. It’s not terrible but my OCD is frustrated by them!

That wide Cattlemans crease and snap brim kind of gives me a headache. Seems wrong somehow.

The chill in the air this morning called out for comfort fabrics... a small maker long hair beaver hat that feels like it might have been made from golden retriever (I know, awful thought, but I have snuggled with many), a cashmere coat and comfy thrift store found cotton velour shirt jacket from Ermenegildo Zegna.

Classy looking fedora. Great color and I like the brim. Very nice Stefan.

Another special hat Richard. Very impressive classic.

You guys look like a grand time was had by all. That color is absolutely beautiful David.

Man, I just love that color and ribbon treatment. One of my favorites Jim.

That 100 is truly a special hat Jack. I like the final crease.

Bill, this USMC Dress Blue tribute is one of the finest hats you own, specifically because of your recognition of the Corps. Thanking you for your service is never enough.

Just something special about the innards of a MacLachlan. I assume the tartan they use is correct for that clan name, anything else would be blasphemy.
Thanks, Mike!

FWIW, the ribbon on the Demon is definitely not patina.

It was fun pulling this one out today. I haven't worn it in several weeks, and the last time I had it out, I worked it to an open crown, steamed and brushed it, removed any ghost creases, and boxed it up. So when I got this out of the box, it was like pulling out a new hat. A little steam and a new crease and off to work I go.

Greetings All:
Today....continuing on the center dent change overs.
Stetson Vita-Felt Stratoliner, unlined, very lightweight. Not Borsalino fly-away light but light.
Kinda has some rose going on in the ribbon department. Totally camera inspired.
Thanks for all the likes and comments as always.
Be well. Bowen

Today...i’ve been kinda leaning towards center creases of late. It seems all i have are diamonds and have become somewhat stale. Center creases present more elegance it seems.
So here’s a diamond with some serious swoop, open crown post steam and brush, then a center crease. Still a dilemma.
Dobbs Forty before and after.
Be well. Bowen
Stellar hat, Bowen. Warm welcome awaits you in the center crease camp!

Sometimes it happens that I buy some Borsalino on the American market
s153c5.jpg

It happens rarely, but some shapes I like are only found on the US market
27zlp8p.jpg

This is an example: Borsalino Qualità Superiore. Size is 7 3/8 color is "Lupo" and ribbon "Nera"

A clone made in the 50s of a Borsalino of the 30s

I really like its shape and I regret not having bought his brother in a lighter gray. The price was great

Here the lining with all the information for connoiseurs of the USA Borsalino market

Some of the Borsalino I bought in USA were back, a "Angora" was showed in these days:)
Have a nice day
A huge thank for all the likes you gave for the Panizza Special
Lovey shape and a wonderful hat, Daniele.

A bit of brightness in the remodel dispair! A fantastic gift hat from our own @deadlyhandsome, Brent arrived today. This sweet Resistol 880 is super light, great kitty finish and fits like a dream. Brent said it was stingy at 2 1/4", it really doesn't have that look when on my head. Great straight crown for a late 1950s hat. They had a whole series of hats named after the new jet airliners that were taking the skies from about 1958 to the early 1960s. The Convair 880 was a smaller airliner than the Boeing 707, which got all the orders. They only made 65 of this model, so it was not a success. The most famous 880 was bought by Elvis Presley in 1975. He named her the "Lisa Marie". I love this place, no matter what, we are family. Thanks to Brent, a great guy!!
