A little sartorial experiment for a dinner dance this evening. Probably not appropriate, but I liked the way it complimented the dinner jacket. Dobbs Optimo natural color.

You’re killing it, Reggie. The hat is a great pairing as long as the properties of Shantung don’t bother you (I sweat a lot in it unless it’s well ventilated).

Wearing my latest conversion project this a.m. This one started out as a 7 3/8 Longhair Stetson 4X Western that I blocked down one size and converted to a fedora. The crown is tall and straight with a tight pinch and is creased to my preferred Teardrop. I went with a 2 5/8 brim width this time around as opposed to my usual 2 3/4 width. I have more in the Conversion Corral...

First of all a praise to all for the magnificent hats I've seen, these days, in speed. Many are new in the rotation in FL and some are particularly beautiful. Congratulations to all :)

The rain limited me in wearing hats, but in spite of it, it prolonged the season of felts

Borsalino Grand Prix 1900 size 59 or 7 3/8 US

It came, some years ago, with a huge lot of Borsalino with problems and was amiably restored by Melegari in Milan

Color is "Argento" and the ribbon is "Asfalto". The felt is a short hair one with a "peachy" touch, very malleable.

Happy Decoration Day, all. Enjoying the day off and thinking of those who served and gave. My father was a corpsman in WWII in France. Thank goodness he came back or I wouldn't be here. So many didn't.

Dobbs Hanover Square and a portion of oinker who did give his or her all for the cause (mah belly).

My envy for those who don’t have to work weekends or holidays is ameliorated by this Stetson 7XCB:

Thank you to all who have served our nation. May we be worthy of the sacrifices made.

Great sentiment. If I may ask, how is that 7X? Soft felt, stiff, wear-ability? I ask as I have found one and it's on the way, and am just curious of your opinion.

This hat took some time to grow on me. The felt is thicker and firm, but also easily molds. The more I wear it the more I like it. It’s truly become a favorite. Mine is unbound and perhaps thicker than some of the others out there. I feel a little foolish that I didn’t immediately recognize its virtues, but I got there in the end. I also have a late 1950’s Stetson One-Hundred and I like the 7XCB better.

Aah, so you got that one. I did bid on that one for a bit, because I liked that cute little beaver on the sweatband so much. The bow treatment is cool too.
Stefan, I have had this one for a while so not sure if it is the same one.

By the way a fantastic series of hats from you! I am the road so haven't checked the FL much.

That is interesting. Thank you for your reply. I will say I'm a bit surprised you like it better than the 100. Good information. I just found a 100 in my size, and am considering it. Thanks again buddy.
