Today.....i’m showcasing this, too small for me RD OR in a color i don’t think i’ve ever seen before. If it fit i’d never let it go but it’s destined for someone who can appreciate it more so bye bye.
I’ve always admired the felt and especially the color of it and today i realized why. This hat felt and color is the spitting image of a Borsalino Featherweight in the color Bismuto that i enjoy so much. Last pic shows both together.
Be well. Bowen
I was hoping it was too large for you, then had a look at the size tag. [emoji2]

Moontheloon is a Member here, who no longer posts much. Several months ago, he cleaned out and sold most of his collection, which was prodigious.

Luckily for me, I was up late that night and saw his post about 40 minutes after it appeared. Incredibly, I thought, many were already gone.

whoaaa. So I'm sure there are differences and I of course have many black leather jackets and many blue denim jeans, but how do you chose which one you want to wear? What's the deciding factor? I'm curious

I have the Borsolino in my place, I'm going to try it with different outfits this weekend to see
I just run my mind by the ones I haven't worn lately, and wait until one of them calls out "me".

Moontheloon was a legend Lounge hat aficionado. He decided to sell his collection a while back. His collection was second to none.
I'm sure you meant no disrespect, but it wouldt be worth your while to check out who folks are before posting comments.

He still is a hat aficionado. I still occasionally have contact with him on a FB site.
His sell-off gave me an excellent start on my collection, but I am still sorry he did that.

It's a great hat to wear day after day, that's for sure. I can't decide if I like the Playboy or the Dobbs Cross Country best.

Ah, the Tankersley... a sweet, statement straw to be sure.
I like the Playboy best. It just seems to sit on my head like it belongs there. The proportions are great. That, and Anthony has told me it was his favorite hat.

Well....today i was planning on pulling out one of my most special, Stetson did it friggin alright, wear only for something special hat, just to brighten up my day.
I was brushing it and noticed a thingy place, then a kinda unrecognized area and immediately went into “Panic Thought Mode”. Oh, who been messin with my hats?? Dog, hit the road!!! You know just regular hat panic.
Alas, i turn it over and what?? Oh yeah, it’s the little brother!!
Hippo digs the Hollywood thing!
I also answered my own question.
Yes, Stetson did make an Open Road 3X Last Drop. Duhh
Be well. Bowen
I have my new Stetson Forty-Eight Panama hat on. Just bought it for my birthday. I love it. I'm not hat savvy, so no idea if it is a good one or not. I like it so I will not worry about the rest. What are the best products to keep it looking new?

That is a beautiful straw, Jim. I didn't get any of Anthony's straws, only felts. There weren't any left. I know that Bill bought at least one I now envy.

This was all I wanted. Thanks to a (at least temporary) slip in quality at PB, I wasn't sure if I could have it made new and be happy.
#1? What number 1? Pics, please, Jim?

Not a #1 Quality, Max. Just the first one made with the dimensions. It's exactly like this, but black. Even the same vintage green thin ribbon.
Here is the original thread. I clearly remwmber my eyes opening wide when I saw the title at 2 a.m.

Selling everything in my entire collection ...

Yeah, even that wasn't true. He'd step in front of a truck before he'd sell his grandfather's Strat.

I put Pecard leather conditioner on the sweatband and put my straw hats in the bathroom while I am taking a shower, so the straw will get a little humidity from the water vapor once in a while.

The No. 1 is my favorite. Now that I think of it, I have a beautiful one from my Moonhaul I haven't worn in a while. It was the first I had conformed to my head. I will wear it today.

Still deciding on keeping the Borsalino or not because I have 3 in the same colourways (which I know to you seasoned hat collectors is NOTHING haha but to me 3/4 hats being that colour is a lot, soon to be 5 with a grey OR coming in!! So I may just keep it after all)
@AbbaDatDeHat

Funny how the slightest of details changes the look. I tried on all 3 hats and in the end the Borsolino that I attempted to do a cattleman crease worked, I stuck a feather in it for fun. It's about the same dimensions as my OR in brim length, in crown height, but it *looks* smaller.

I originally wanted my OR Stetson to be a cattleman crease, but @alanfgag did such a beautiful job with the shape it is currently I couldn't bring myself to change it/ruin it (since it would be my first time shaping).

I changed my outfit about 3 times too to figure out what would work. I think this is what I'll be wearing, I'm going for afternoon drinks with some friends on a terrace, it's not a great day but meh, it's a long weekend in Canada. The only question now is, I wanted to bike there because I haven't biked a lot since Winter cleared up but how am I going to transport this thing? Roll it up for a 10 minute bike ride? It looks like the Borsolino could handle it, any tips for transporting it while I'm biking around? It's too windy to keep on my head I suspect.

LEFT: custom hat I got made with my design, I actually don't think I'll be wearing this as much now that I've acquired "better" hats, but maybe in the summer with a plain white tee
MIDDLE: Vintage (1940, 50, 60 I can't tell?) Borsalino
RIGHT: 1950s OR Stetson silverbelly

As you can see, my Netflix paused show decided I was taking too long so it disconnected
