A very tall crown today with reverse taper... sold in Buffalo during the war between the states. This was sent to me by a very generous FL friend who will someday get a great hat in return.

Happy Birthday, Alan. If you were to throw your hat into the ring of candidates for nominee for 2020, I'd vote for your Lincoln stove pipe hat [emoji145] [emoji4]

I've been taking a selfie of me in my hat of the day pretty much every day for the past ten years. And yes, I have had to repeat a couple of times. Here is a little sampler of the birthday hats selected during those years. Someday down the road a bigger project awaits... I reserved the URL sevenandoneeighth.com in case I get around to it.

Who is that masked man under that brim?
More like a blindfolded man than masked man the way my eyes are going. Thanks.

That hat, with that trench coat, the tie, I tell you, if that was black & white you would look like a still promotion from a Film Noir movie.

Have you ever thought of auditioning for the next Bond movie?

If you ever think that lid might need to be pensioned off, Michael. I'm a seven & three quarters.
Sorry to say, this one is a 7. And Stefan put in early dibs on it.

That is one heck of a great suit. Fine Marathon too. Always enjoy seeing how you put it together, Michael.
Thanks Alan. It is my favorite suit. And Happy Birthday. That is an enviable lineup of birthday hats you posted today. All fantastic. And the stovepipe is a topper to top them all.

Thanks,
Michael

Great parade of hats. Happiest of birthdays to you as well, Alan! Here's to many more, and many more hats.

This is a cool silk finish modern Biltmore. I picked it up on ebay at a real good price. It was easy pickin's since Brent deadlyhandsome turned most of his attention to westerns.

Hey now, I bought a charcoal grey suede finish Biltmore fedora just last month. ;)

The finish on your hat looks great. I really have a thing for these longer hair finishes.

Good to see you posting, Fred. You don’t have to have new hats to always be welcome here. Sorry to hear about the health issues...hope all is well./QUOTE]

Thanks, guys. I'm managing the health issue, but it will likely take a while for it to completely be under control. It is what it is.

I've been absent too, because when I see all the terrific hats others are buying and wearing, I start getting an itch...
