Late in the day, restoration complete & I'm wondering what conditions are like out on the river. My dog is saying "Let's go see!" Wearing my river hat, a Thoroughbred 10X.

More on the canoe restoration here:

Jack; Great hat and a terrific canoe. Love the wood restoration and caning on the seats. I bet it will be a pleasure to take out.

What a glorious Sunday here in the NE.

Have a great week!

You look sharp in your duds and hat. Oh but those shoes rock! I wore their cousins today.

Mayser's "Supra" date stamped November 14, 1950. Johann Zehme München was the Royal Bavarian Court Supplier (est. 1834). Unfortunately the famous store closed in 2012 and was replaced by Prada. Here is a story from 2012 and interestingly some of the comments don't match the story content.

I have neglected taking photos of Mayser Paper Labels. This one is actually date stamped November 14, 1950 (14.11.50) so an extra bonus.

The inside sweatband seam is also date stamped!

Steve; You have showcased some wonderful hats of late. I particularly enjoy today's hat with the wonderful swoop profile shape, accoutrements and the accompanying article link. Very interesting article. Thanks for sharing your passion.

Best, Eric -

Got this yesterday from a fellow lounger. It's one of the new Strats from Stetson. I already had one in Sage, so this Silverbelly one will make a nice addition. Thanks to my new friend Dennis.

Robie,

Your new Silverbelly Stratoliner looks awesome. It compliments your facial characters. The color looks like it will match most any clothing. Wear it in health friend.

Been out of the loop for a while. I miss the hatlove, discussing it with the wife is just not the same. Have some new hats to get posted. In an exchange with the Holland Connection I came up with a wonderful heather finish homburg. This Wilson (English manufacture) is a dream. The felt is supple and clay like. The liner reads like a book. Lots to love about this one. I've got to take some detail photos and post it (catching up!) I wore it to rehearsal for the play I'm stage managing last night. I'll be getting out the black hats for a few weeks though. I'm thinking it may be early 1950s.

While not a hat I wore today, this was last Friday in New Orleans. I was able to meet the owner of a NOLA hat institution, Sam Meyer. He still comes into the shop a couple of days each week. His grandson was on the lounge a while back. They were so impressed with the light blue duplex from Mike Miller, they begged me to come in and show Sam. He got a real kick out of meeting a Lounge Member from the other side (left coast) of the USA. It was an honor to meet him.

I can see why you like it. I do too. Beautiful color and a supple felt is always a joy. Congratulations on your purchase.

Good to see you back, Mike! The Lounge isn’t the same when you’re not here.
