Stefan, Thank you! I found this one a couple years ago but I forgot about it. I agree about the color and the crown is about 6 1/2 inches open. You can see how light weight the Velour is by the wave in the brim (see front view).

Thanks Red. It was quite a lot colder today than it was this weekend. No more biking for awhile. I did manage to stay warm on my outing to the downtown area.

Now that is a Stagecoach that I would leave as is! The dimensions and brim curl look great.

Thanks, HJ, I'm not sure there's enough crown to have just the center crease, but that would be interesting to try. Mike did such an amazing job on this one (it was a natural wild hare felt) that I'd be afraid to screw with it. Maybe it's time to find some low level westerns to experiment with.

Today I wore one of my two new-to-me Royal Stetsons - the one with the lower crown. It was the first time my wife has seen it on my head.

The front pinch is at 4", between 1/4 and 1/2" lower than most of my hats.

She reacted very positively to it. I told her why, as in what she was looking at, in comparison to what she usually sees on me. She liked it a lot.
