My third contribution to Stingymas is this 5cm brim mid-fifties to early sixties Barbisio in grey subbranded Cellini.

Just to elaborate a little. The hat came to me from Daniele with both ribbon and sweatband replaced by Penumbra Hats. No tags or labels. I’m sure, though, that if the original sweatband had a maker’s label, Daniele would have let me know at the time. The only markings are on the crown, shown below.
You are right in your memory.
To complete the chapter this is the full story.
I bought a stock of French hats a few years ago from a street vendor. Some were completely finished, some were partially finished and some were unfinished. Most have been fixed, some are still to be finished, but few now.
I attach photos of four finished hats that have the characteristics mentioned in the previous post about the French hats from which yours came. They are all "flecked" but one in in mixed felt (wool+furs), but I included it to get a complete picture of that find.
All the hats are new and arrived as you see them. Most of the hats were well know brands as Flechet and Morreton, others, as you see, were from not well known hatters
The light is a bit warm and is that of the sun through a light mist. Sizes 59-60 very large. They are for sale

Later today, I have a meeting with the manager at my bank. He's a sharp dresser, but not a hat wearer. Originally, knowing that said manager often wears a bow tie, I contemplated such attire. Tina advised against that. "Just put one of your hats on," she suggested. Who am I to argue. Bespoke made by Gamble & Gunn.
Lookin' razor-sharp, as always, Robert.
