Starting to get chilly, so I thought I'd break out a hippie hat.

Adam DeLuxe quality longhair. This hat has a bit of presence.

Very gray day with snow on the way
Panizza Sportsman 1.jpg

In the cold I took a hat from the final production of the historic Italian hatmaker for a walk.
Panizza Sportsman A.jpg
Panizza "Sportsman" size 59. The color is "Cognac" and the thin velour felt is very malleable.
Panizza Sportsman 2.jpg
The shape is bizarre and very close to a "Lord hat" as these types of hats are called here.
Panizza Sportsman B.jpg
To me it look like a "lobbia" crossed with coachman's hats.
In French and Italian production they are very rounded with very cambered brims.

Very light, it is probably suitable for less cold days

Champ Bowler - Brown
Approx 4 3/4 crown
About 1 3/4 brim to curl
1 1/8 brown grosgrain ribbon

When I got a heads up about this brown Champ Bowler from lounge friend and enabler @Randall Renshaw … I had thought I might have gotten my HAS under control. I thought wow that’s a super Buy It Now deal on a cool probably 1960s brown bowler… but I have two other brown bowlers that don’t get worn enough.. at 6 7/8 it’s on the smaller side of what I can wear and being a stiff felt not really any margin for error. So I thought I would pass on this one and went about my day doing some yard work for a couple hours. Only to return to find it still there… and wouldn’t you know that HAS kicked in and the BIN was pressed.

Now that it arrived I couldn’t be happier with it. What I had thought was a 60s hat from the seller pics… looks in person to be more 1950s. There is no HCA label inside and the size sticker inside is more in line with pre 1956 HCA takeover Champ labels… so I’m leaning to mid 1950s. Love the look and shape… and it fits like a dream. It made the trip out last night to the pub for karaoke. Thanks Randall!

looking good in that bowler. The first pics seems like an impression of Charlie's @hatsRme signature grin!

The dog can't wait for the results! Looking fine, Phil.

Yesterday, Saturday was a two hat day for me. I had to lay low today after last nights holiday party.

Probably enough presence to scare off a polar bear! Love it.

S. & J. Fraenkel Wien "Extra Qualität" possibly earlier 1930s. This is a really great Metal Gray Echter Velour Soleil. I found this Velour back in 2015.

"Fraenkel Wien" Mirrored Display Stand, date stamped May 2, 1931. Notice same "S. & J. Fraenkel Wien Extra Qualität" Liner Crest as the above Hat. This was gifted to me by Daniele back in 2018.
