I have had some contact with him on FB. He is a witty and knowledgeable hat aficionado. Several members have requested he be unbanned. I know the Lounge has to uphold its rules, otherwise it would quickly slip into anarchy. However, couldn't a one-time pardon be made for such a popular member?

A thread dedicated to a banned member would be hilariously provocative.

Sent directly from my mind to yours.

Beautiful Alan! Looks brand new.

Thanks Bob... it was sold at retail but clearly a special occasion hat that, if worn, was worn seldom and carefully.

Wow Alan what a treat to see this hat!
Thank you so much. This hat is one of those very few hats on the lounge that isn’t in a class of it’s own but IS a class alone!!! Bowen

Thank you Bowen... if you haven't seen the photos posted in the Stack Hats thread, they can be found here. The hat has interesting provenance, belonging to a career Air Force officer who rose to the rank of Major General. He was a one term sheriff of Garland County, Arkansas from 1946-1950. My guess is that he purchased the hat in Hot Springs sometime during that period of his life.

Thanks Alan. Oh, i do recall that thread. I try not to look at it too much (et al) because it makes me want to call you up and solicit a hat. Ha ha. I do try not to do that.
Is a great story for a great hat. The Frank Stack story is pretty cool too. That’s a big part of all this, as you know.

I try not to remember the pic of the Knox One Hundred. I keep thinking "If I only would've been a member then..."

Monday morning with sun and not so cold
34dofi8.jpg

Panizza color "Bolzano" size 60cm. sold in the deep Italian south
The finish is short-haired almost opaque felt, the brim has a seam over the edge
jsypz4.jpg

It was part of a bunch of hats I bought some years ago from a woman reselling the inventories of this shop
2qasns3.jpg

It was made in the historical factory in Ghiffa visited with Steve two years ago. The felt of historical Paizza production is most of the time of the highest quality

Felt is soft and color is anthracite with some burgundy reflection in the shadow

So it had arrived, with this shape, I tried to change it, but without success, so here it is in its original form.
Thanks a lot for your words and likes
Buon lunedì a tutti!

Wow, stunning!
