A few days ago my friend Stefan asked me to decipher a paper label of a Borsalino.

The color "Destrina - Dextrin", I assume was his curiosity

Ascertained that Borsalino used this color, I remembered that I have a hat of this color. Here it is.

To be exact it is a "modern" G.B. Borsalino fu Lazzaro".

Size 6 (French point) or 59 cm. in US a 7 3/8.
It comes from a deposit found a few years ago near Ferrara, the result of the closure of a hat shop

I found the hat together with others built in the 60s and 70. In the next days I will show them to you because even in this period there were some small masterpieces ;-)

Have a nice day and thanks for your like.
Never saw that colour before. I really like it, especially with a bit of sunshine on it.

It's the time of the year for them! Gorgeous.

Borsalino ca. 1960s.

Wonderful how the different artificial night lights bring out the nuances of the felt colours in this one.

Checking in thanks to a worldly traveler checking in on me.

Hats off to Gary (@The Shoe), Steve (@Steve1857), and Fabio (@fabiovenhorst) for the Samurai Blue, Three Lions, and Seleção, respectively. Stefan (@steur)...looks like we have unfinished business.

Two fabulous hats, Jonathan. As far as the unfinished business goes; I think your team has a decent shot at getting further into the tournament, because I think our guys are the worst I've seen in decades.
Wasnt going to get too dirty at work today so I broke out my 3X OR. I love this hat!

While I was out and about over the weekend in my Strat; I just happend to pass by the old Stetson retail hat store and offices on Sansom Street in Center City Philadelphia. I believe it closed down in the early 1970’s when the general factory in North Philadelphia shuttered its doors. Now it is an Asian Fusion restaurant.

Wotan Homburg.

A year or so ago, Stefan kindly went back to the shop he saw it in to get it for me.

Steve @mayserwegener suspects this is a Mayser Milz product.

Very nice. Looks like a big brim for a Homburg. How big is it?
Thanks Gary.

It's 5cm so not overly wide.
It's a great homburg. My database says the brim is 6cm (yes, I keep a database of hats ;)).

Doesn't everybody?

Just started (and it was a bit difficult to determine the shipping costs on a few as they may have been done over the phone or I just never received a receipt). I was finally pushed into it as eBay is sending the IRS my hat "sales" now and I needed to document my "costs". I've sold 80 hats so far this year and have about 30 more in stock (and for some reason they keep coming in). I might even make a little money when it's all said and done.

And here I just do it for fun.

Mallory Coast to Coast - Dark Grey Brown
4 3/4 - 3 7/8 rakish crown
1 5/8 pewter grosgrain ribbon
2 3/8 brim with 3/8 bound edge

Thanks go out to @DaveProc for the tip on this Mallory Coast to Coast and a fairly dark grey brown felt. Having seen Jim’s @Frunobulax C2C I knew I wouldn’t go wrong with this buy. This I believe would be later 50s considering the card stock size tag and slightly shorter brim at 2 3/8. The dark taupe felt is offset ever so slightly with a pewter grosgrain ribbon and brim binding. The crown still sports what appears to be its factory tear drop and rakish crease. Mallory are among my favorites and I do have a few with similar (Whippet-ish) styling but none with the C2C designation or this coloring so this will fit in nicely.
