You have a great collection, Jim. You have hats I haven’t seen anywhere else. Odd that more Borsalinos haven’t found there way to you.
Maybe the Cavanagh equestrian derby Luckily none fell out of our trees today…. But tomorrow is supposed to be colder. We shall see.Nice hat Joe! You might switch to a large-brimmed western to deflect the falling iguanas better.
Very nice, Steve. Nice tartan scarf for a bit of colour.Cervo on a drizzly day. View attachment 398698
Good looking TAR Borsalino. Not an everyday colour.
Love that colour. To be honest though: the pencil curl could have been done a bit tighter. Maybe Ignacio could do some work on that (we haven't heard him mentioned in a while).Loro Piana Spaghetti Western today View attachment 398794 View attachment 398795 View attachment 398796 View attachment 398797 View attachment 398798
Super hat, Jim. It's got the perfect classic look.
Lovely hat, Joe. I know the felt on it is just to die for.Cold but very windy morning necessitated a shorter brim. The right off the hook Borsalino Marque Grand Luxe XXXXX did just the trick.

Beautiful homburg, Steve. Very satisfying to be able to put it on the right hat holder!Anton Peschel Dinkelsbüh "Norma" possibly late 1950s.

Hi, Stefan! You probably remember, but it was a floppy Loro Piana 100% beaver woman's hat. I took it to Ignacio to be reblocked and reshaped, and it was so floppy that he had to stiffen the felt, specially on the brim. I asked him to add as little stiffener as possible to keep the new shape, because I really liked the feel of the felt. He sighed, shook his head, and did as I asked.Very nice, Steve. Nice tartan scarf for a bit of colour.

Beautiful work as usual. Maybe the pictures hide it, but apart from that one little spot, it no longer looks particularly distressed to me.I retired this poor abused hat from a crushed up and badly sweat and dirt stained 3X Beaver Quality Western work hat and converted it to a naturally distressed three ply thin ribbon fedora. I was able to reuse the three ply ribbon but I wasn't so lucky in trying to salvage the original brim binding. It deteriorated as I was trying to remove it to reuse. The original sweat was toast too, and the liner was missing. The hat looked to be '50s era. It's been cleaned up, reblocked and sized up.

Naturally distressed and aged and still showing the faint shadow of sweat stains
The open crown is 5 3/4 tall and is creased to a teardrop.
As creased, the crown is tall and straight with an over all height of 5 inches and 4 5/8 at the pinch with a rake sloping to 4 1/4 to the back.
The snap brim is 2 5/8 wide. For now it's a raw edge until I sew another ribbon on it for a thin bound edge like the original.

I wore my Stetson Custom V. Even as my collection grows, this one remains a real favourite.

Thank you buddy! That's the only moth bite on the whole hat!Beautiful work as usual. Maybe the pictures hide it, but apart from that one little spot, it no longer looks particularly distressed to me.

Wow!
You too have more that few show stoppers…I have had some business travel this week and finally an opportunity to catch up on this thread this morning. Vic your hat is a show stopper. Congrats on a dynamite hat! What a pristine version of this rare hat. Thanks for sharing.
