Happy New Year to all. Grateful for TFL and all the kindness I’ve found on here. Been wearing my early dress hats lately and enjoying them very much so. Just when I think I’m ready to sell, my mustache and soul patch combo convinces me otherwise. Here’s my Stetson Excellent Quality (as previously posted)
That is a beautiful hat! Great shape to it and classic colours.

Reaching back to New Year's Eve eve, after a week of wear, the black CD is conforming nicely. View attachment 392615

Later that day a J.C. Penney Marathon.

All very nice, Jim, but I really like the colours on the Penney.

Fabulous line up Stefan. Love the 3X
Thanks, Joe. Mark @M Hatman kindly traded that one with me. I miss his posts of ephemera.

Fabulous, Matt. I think only Fabio @fabiovenhorst can match you there.

The food looks great! My maternal grandmother used to do a full spread too. I can only manage the ozoni and oden from a pack at the Japanese market. It was so hectic when I was doing my shopping that I forgot the kuromame. I always grab some tazukuri though, most of the rest of my family was not so hot on it, so I ate a lot of it growing up.

I've been wearing my refurb 7xCB. We've had a few real windy days here, and it actually blew straight off my head that day I was in Japantown. Thankfully it's no worse for the wear.

a day late, but Happy New Year's loungers!
Glad to hear the hat was safe, Jared ;)
We went to Hatsumōde (the first visit to a shrine in the New Year) yesterday. View attachment 392692

Looks like you're really feeling that song, Gary! Cool hats.

Very nice, Perry. Perhaps we should make this the year of the black hat!

A bit late on this post. Yesterday morning it was 16 degrees Fahrenheit. Which was a huge change from the Saturday which was in the mid 70s. Anyway, the wife brought out a fur so I did the same. I chose my longhair Dalton for services.

A quick question. The sweatband is stamped "genuine beaver". So I would assume a beaver blend? Or should I be thinking beaver only?

Gorgeous hat, Bill. Interesting to see the "controlled brim" imprint. I recently posted this Courtney I got from Panos @PanosChris and commented the felt reminded me of my Dalton. It has the same imprint on the sweatband, so Dalton could well be the maker. Maybe Jim @Frunobulax , as our resident Dalton expert, knows if other hats have this imprint as well.

Shoot, that's a toughie. I'd guess it's all beaver, but wouldn't bet the house on it.

As with the one you posted, the "Controlled Brim" is a Dalton patent, so I'm thinking your Courtney is a Dalton, too. They seem to have made some hats for others - my wife owns one that has a "by Dalton" imprint.

I wore my least favorite hat today. I have regulated this modern Stratoliner to yard work duty. I really love the modern Stratoliner’s, but the black ribbon treatment on the walnut kills me. I had to dig/trench new electrical wire for yard lights. I must say while my Stratoliner got dirty, it earned respect from me. It has some sweat stains, I mean character. After a quick brushing, it received more wear time while walking our dog.
