I spent much of the week cooking for a family thanksgiving at our place upstate. More than a dozen people to feed and one oven (and it’s electric yuck) isn’t a good mix. Lots of good food, booze and fun was had. Wednesday and Thursday were perfect, Friday came the trouble. The forecast “flurries” or a “dusting” pretty quickly turned into 11” of snow, at least up on our mountain. Early Friday pic of me in my black cherry VS just as it began to snow. Then a beer can left on the deck, before we all turned in. A shot of the view from our living room on the morning. Also my wife forgot to grab the bread I made from the freezer so I improvised and made two loaves on the grill.

Great hat and view Alan! I like the depth gauge for the snow. A beer can (and a WalMart bag) are “official” units of measurement around here. Like “Check out this tree a beaver dropped across our path to the creek” …

Warm enough for straw as we headed up creek to check on the Bald Eagles. They weren’t home, but we could see them cruising the neighborhood.

Thanks Brent (and everyone). I think the asymmetrical vent alignment is supposed to create a vortex.

How very interesting. I figured a 60s revival

I think it is. The original Fu Lazzaro is very hard to find. I think Borsalino had two versions of some models on the market, one under the regular Borsalino brand name and one under the Borsalino fu Lazzaro brand name. I think the Savoy is another example of this. I've only seen this liner in their Canadian licensed hats (note the "di" instead of "fu").

Barbisio Qualitá Extra. The third of the three hats I bought from Daniele recently. I fell for this one as soon as I saw Daniele's photos of it. Elegant style, bold colour, wonderful hand to the felt, simple but eye-catching ribbon and bow treatment, and quality finishes.
