Lovely, Reggie. Glad to see the cat thinks so too!

Love that wide ribbon. It really makes that Bogart pop!

Pretty cool, Brent. I like the color and texture. It looks like Moleskine.

Portis in the rain. Too much! Stefan, your American vintage hat catalog, checks all the boxes. I love it.
Thanks, Reggie. There are still some left in the catalogue.
"Echter Nobleza Velour", possibly mid 1950s.

It's a brand I encounter now and again, Steve, but never ever in this quality! Wonderful.

Last day of sun and temperature above the maximum for the season. Tomorrow it will rain, so they say

Modern GB Borsalino made for the US market. Size is 7 1/2
View attachment 269221
Color of the medium weight felt is "Dattero" and the type of the hat is "San Remo". Finishes are of high end

The brim were finished with the "feltrato" system and there is a wind cord. No traces of the shop

It arrived new some years ago in a lot of Borsalino of various size.
Thanks a lot for your likes and appreciations.
Have a nice Saturday and Sunday
Looking good, Daniele. There are quite a few modern Borsalinos that are of outstanding quality.
Stefan, Thank you! Great duo from you with the Portis and Mallory XV!
Thank you, Steve.

I really like the look of those San Antonio Resistols. Cool hat, Bob.

... away? Very nice, Jim.

Nice heather felt, Jonathan.

Marathon morning

Been summer hot and very windy here lately. Hat unfriendly.

To call it Borsalino's workhorse colour wouldn't do it justice, but it does always work! Nice one, Steve.

In the mid-90s in North Texas today. So I pulled out a powder blue Art Fawcett Dualist for worship services.

Fabulous, Bill.

New hats just have to be worn. The colour on the Mallory is really nice, Joe.

Headed home today after spending the holiday weekend in Encintas. Beautiful rental for an intimate beach wedding, so I brought the nicest felt I own for the occasion. Stetson 5x

Heading out to help someone with some wrangling so wearing my older Akubra with Crocodile foot band, which has been played with and refurbed. It was originally 62+ but I lost a massive amount of weight 2 years ago and it was way too big as I'm now only a 59.
Wife thought it was disgusting and wanted to throw it out, gave it one hell of a washing and shrunk the crap out of it, even got the Croc band shrunk down to size. I didn't think the hat would survive the clean and hot air gun lol but it came out a winner.

First time wearing it since I finished it a couple weeks ago. Still wondering about replacing the liner, will see how it fairs today. Going to be about 96 degrees out there.

The hat turned out well. Congratulations on the weight loss: I know how hard that is.

Thanks, I think I might make myself a hardwood open block to my size and redo it with less taper and a different bash. Be fun and a proper open block say a #52 maybe in my size would be very handy I imagine. I got a couple of old hats I could use to learn and practice on more, bugger think I found another rabbit hole! lol, well I have a lathe and massive bandsaw and not much excuse to not have a go.

As to weight loss, yeah was difficult for sure but life gave me no other choice so it's done. Last time I was this weight I was almost 12 years old, lost 61kg and am truely half the man I used to be. 4XL down to a 32/34 inch waist.

Gorgeous colour, love the lid and it looks stunning. My only gripe is the small ribbon, no idea what it is about thin ribbon with me but I'm not a huge fan.
