I love onyx rings and have worn one for over 45 years; however, I like the hat better (no offense).

What do you mean by "pants pocket?"

Pants pocket was a Lee lightweight style, I’ve seen it in a late 30’s ad. The ring is part of a 60+ collection I have that range mostly from the late 1800's to the 1960's. I just thought I'd spice up the hat a bit.

Cool. Is the ad posted on the FL anywhere?

Edit: Never mind, found it.

Thank you for the heads up on this one Jim...

Thanks Jonesy. I actually bought the band off of a Navajo in Monument Valley last year. It wasn't very expensive, but I just assumed it was hand made but I never did ask.
I bet it is hand made. I picked up some nice beaded hat bands that were hand made near Lake Atitlan in Guatemala. It is a special place, but many people are quite poor, so I like to support their beautiful art work.

And thanks STILL again Mark!!! and also dang it... just the same. If ever I have an inkling of thinking I have one I may want to move along end up falling in love with it. LOL.

Just like those old cat ladies... I’ll end up an old hat guy.... at least I don’t have to feed them... but they do seem to reproduce

Crazy rain today. Akubra Coolabah

I went out two more times. So when I come in, I dabb the excess rain off with a towel. Jam my head block into the hat and leave it to dry overnight. If not completely dry I use another hat until it is.

Stefan, Thanks! Great looking Borsalino "Rogers Peet"! Fantastic color contrast between Band/Binding and Felt.
Thank you, Steve.

Thanks Stefan. Enjoying it.

some evidence.... I put in another post... points to idea that Croydon could have been a Lower tier brand Produced by Stetson or Some kinda subsidiary anyhow to sell in dept and clothing stores. I guess kinda compete with Adam... fun to theorize on it anyhow.
Yes, saw that. Good detective work!

Cooler winds off the lake have me donning a fleece and a Lee Cameo. This Black Label is a part of the infamous JohnnyPhi find of some years back.

Cheers. Be safe, be strong and see you on the streets soon, Eric -
Beautiful hat, Eric.

Fantastic, Greg. I like this one best of all your hats. Gorgeous.

Thanks Stefan. I would have trouble choosing between the two when they are in hand. The Rogers Peet model you had out today is still looking very good.

Today, for the morning at least, it was the Knox Twenty.

Have a good evening,
Michael
Can't go wrong with a Knox twenty. Nice!

Slight break in the heat this weekend after twelve days of +90F and humidity. Maxed out at 82 today with mid 60s when I left the house this morning for the weekly grocery run. Took the opportunity for the maiden voyage of this Borsalino Gorasgu in Folco:

Yesterday's pick was this RD Stetson Musketeer. Porthos, maybe?

Dermotta Wien, possibly mid 1950s. The felt finish and hand are excellent plus easily dry creases. The overall workmanship is great which is standard for Dermotta Wien.

Excellent homburg, Steve.

Wore this 60’s/early 70’s 7X CB on the early morning dog walk. Likely the last of the felts today as we head towards the Africa hot heat index of 109°. 2 5/8 x 6 OC.
