My wife and I just returned from a trip to Spain and enjoyed everything there...including Sombreria Obach in Barcelona...old school, classic hat shop carrying many of the high quality European and American brands.
I have purchased hats from Art, Óptimo, and even Panama Bob back in the day as well as from others: they have all been of the highest quality. For pre made, however, and not custom I must say that this 100 per cent Beaver from Signes, a famous Spanish brand, is the best pre made I own. The nap, the feel, and the modern but not severe style blend wonderfully. I do not know why Signes is not more well known in the US but they are quite so in Europe. Purchased in October, at Sombreria Obach, Barcelona. Best regards.

Is this the appropriate hat for harvesting black walnuts? (Hatatorium custom)

Uh...no. With a good breeze and forty-foot trees this is required (late ‘70s hard hat).

The first round of walnuts are hulled and drying behind me. Lots more where those came from. The medium sized tree behind the house put out some massive walnuts this year!

After we gather enough we’ll head to the huller.

I was going to say, I wouldn't wear a white hat out gathering walnuts.

Walnuts don't do super great around here but the local filberts, aka hazel nuts, are a huge cash crop for Oregon, 99% of U.S. production (3-4% of world production).

Some great hats posted today fellas. Thanks for sharing.
Here's my Sunday contribution, a Hückel Homburg. I've been in a Homburg frame of mind this past month or so. Luckily, Stefan (this one) and Daniele have been able to keep me well supplied.

This late '40s - early '50s Stetson Nutria Western conversion has seen its share of being taken apart, converted a few times, and reblocked to size. It's faded out some over the years and developed a couple of small weak spots on the brim and on the crown. I was able to fix the the brim and the small weak spot on the crown is something I can live with since I'm not going to be mishandling it. In any event, it won't see any more conversions and it has a good long life ahead and should see a good deal of wear time. It's not the most perfect hat by any means but it does look like it's been well worn and broke in by an everyday blue collar guy some years ago.

Nice hat. Also dig those Browline Glasses. They look like Shuron.

A day out in Copenhagen. Thought it deserved this Borsalino Lobbia bought from Daniele. Once more, Penumbra Hats have done a great job cleaning it and replacing the ribbon and trim on the curled brim. The colour represents that of the original. A big thanks to them and Daniele for their excellent choice.

Have a great weekend fellow Loungers.
