This kangaroo skin hat used to be a favorite. It’s now been relegated to my gardening and barbecuing hat...hamburgers at the pit today...magnificent! And with this, I’ve now posted all of my autumn/winter hats except for one cheesecutter. If you don’t know what a cheesecutter is, google it and you’ll discover where I hail from!

Great looking burger. You must be from New Zealand...... ?

I have several of those leather Aussie hats as well for packing in the motorcycle on trips. They have their place.

50s Stetson Medalist . Had to change out another super ugly pleated ribbon.
I reused the cream colored one I took off the Pilgrim, except now it’s dyed brown to match the hat.
Also had to fashion a “pug”? from an old discarded liner out of a Gun Club hat that could not be revived.
The crown was pork pie style. I steamed in a c-crown.
Frankensteined, but I love it, as only a deranged creator can. :)

A French hat that comes directly from the thirties
J&B 3.jpg

j-b-3-jpg.219008

One of the many finds in Strasbourg year 2015
J&B 2 bis.jpg

j-b-2-bis-jpg.219010

Its date is certain because the address stamped on the sweatband is the one where the "A. Meer" hats shop was located between the beginning of the last century and the thirties.
J&B 1.jpg

j-b-1-jpg.219011

It is made of wool and, perhaps, some noble fur

Unlined and with only one small patch on the crown that tells us it was made in France by JB

It is a hat that I like very much and arouses some comments on its shape.
Have a good week!

Greetings All:
Today....well i notice not often, if hardly ever, that no one wears their brims down all around.
So...i’m advocating today for those hats that just beg to be down but get upped in back or all around.
Return of the Camo-liner speaking for all those uppers that wanna be downers.
As fine a representation of a topo map on felt as you’ll ever find.
You can’t get this at the mall!!
Be well. Bowen
