German Velour possibly early 1930s later 1920s could be older. Not sure if it had a liner. No company mark or paper label. I found this hat a long while ago but it's a very nice old Velour.

Wonderful Steve! The shape and proportions of it reminds me a lot the Huckel prima.
When I think of velour hats, the first thing that comes in mind is your exquisite collection :)

Thank you very much. The gills are outstanding in my opinion. Especially with the dogears. Not many hatmakers do make the ears Mike told me, but if that is true, i don't know.

Very nice. That bow looks a lot like the one I made for my Disney, although I had to use Petersham since I couldn’t find any 2” woven edge in the color I was wanting. I’ll have to try it again with some 1-1/2” when I don’t have to hide bleaching from the previous ribbon. It is very time consuming and tedious.

Maybe I didn’t make it long enough though, I ran out of ribbon since I only ordered one yard and this takes more than a regular bow:

That is how to wear a hat when the hatband has a "tail." It looks right, there's a ruggedness to it too, how well it goes with the sheepskin collared jacket. Does anyone remember a fad where a necktie was wrapped around the hatband and the surplus length left hanging down the back? I saw some old photos recently of previous fashion fads, the necktie hatband was amongst them. My take is that a necktie looks in place when worn around the neck.
