Celebrated 2020 with my dearest theater friends last night. Since it was the "Roaring 20s", I debuted my new pin striped 1920s suit and new Spectators. The homburg is in the 1920s style, timeless. It was my Hardeman "Governor" c.1949. Of course, I had my flappers with me and Molly "the Moll" Had a perfect evening, so much laughing and fun!

Went out to visit our folks in the city and I decided to celebrate the new year with this beautiful Emerson. I remember seen this same style of hat on an Alfred Hitchcock's episode. It was wore by an American FBI agent and when I saw it, I immediately knew I needed to find one.

It is a cool hat with a great crown shape and a beautiful ribbon with a back bow. It has all the stickers inside, but I haven't messed with the liner because it is sewn.

Threw in there a vintage Burberry waist length jacket[emoji6][emoji106]

Happy New Year folks!

Love the green Brummels Stefan !
I need to add a green hat to my collection. That looks close to the Akubra Bluegrass Green on my screen, a great color.
Nothing's impossible, Tim!
That's a beautiful shade of green. I'm saving this picture for a future custom[emoji6][emoji106]

Thanks, Héctor. For me it's the felt and the finishing that are the most appealing qualities of this hat. But is is nice to widen the spectrum a bit.

Cleaning up the mess from the Christmas decorations on the patio before the NYE Bash at my house tonight. The Mallory Dallas is up to the task.

Then switch to the Bowler for the evening.

Great hat, Tim. Nice shape and colour.

In solidarity with Bill Hughes I wore my example of what $20 would get you in the 1950s. My Dobbs Twenty is very similar to Bill's only less brimmed. Love this hat, I would date it to the latter 1950s. A time when you could go into a hat shop and have the clerk "fit" a hat to your face/build. Much like Bill has determined about wider brim widths he wears exclusively. I want to wish everyone a very Happy New Year, may your 2020 be full of beautiful hats!

If only $20 could get you the same quality today! Beautiful hat, Mike.

To me they look just as good on you as your wider brimmed hats do, Bill. All wonderful.

Wore the Tatton again today for a bit. Was trying to get a good shot showing the colors of this hat, they are very lush and chamois like. Moss & Chocolate. This ones doesn't show as purple or strobe in my computer screen, so maybe I got the lighting right this time. ;)

Looks like a very well made hat. Good get, Ken.

Happy New Year fellow Loungers. Thanks for all the sharing of hats, information, histories, photos, likes, and comments in 2019. Looking forward to even more in 2020 [emoji145]

Might be a bit stingy to your taste, Bill, but that's a mighty cool looking hat.

The color and finish of the felt are well represented in this photo and in the second. In the others, like all the mixed felts of Borsalino, the color varies according to the light

Looking happy, Randy. That can only mean there's a good hat incoming;) Let hope we can give that bowler a nice friend to keep it company in 2020!

Fantastic as ever, Eric. Let's hope we can see just as many splendid hats from you as in 2019.

Welcome, Steve. You couldn't have found a greater hat site. Nice looking Stetson Bowler btw. Some of us just can't get enough of them [emoji145]

Happy New Year, loungers.
I took your advice and went with this for my gig outfit last night. As roarin’ ‘20s as I could come up with, like most of the country was doing I think.

@Short Balding Guy, I couldn’t find any spectator shoes in a pinch, but they are most definitely on my radar now! Had to go with my navy Stacy Adams oxfords because although the colors aren’t contrasting, the materials are.

The hat is a tall Knox extra quality vented bowler, likely from an appropriate vintage or so.

The moustache was merely stubble, but my daughter insisted on enhancing it. She would hardly let me out the door otherwise. Also, I can’t remember removing my sideburns like this, maybe since 9th grade.

Wow, Mike! Tons of fun by the looks of it. But no matter how good we look, we alway get upstaged by the girls. Great pics.

Daughters know best! They make all of us look better. Same with granddaughters!
