As a Mexican who'd never even heard of black ice before, I almost died the first time I encountered it driving in Wisconsin. If it hadn't been for the guardrail, I would have drowned in a frozen river.
I remember thinking "why is everybody slowing down?" right before my car started spinning. Scary!

Oh, and I fractured my wrist and needed surgery when I slipped on my driveway in Chicago.

I hate cold! I hate it! Oh, and I am allergic to it, too. Strange, that there actually is an allergy to cold, and I passed it on to my daughter, Sabrina. Hers is worse than mine.

This hat was made by VS using a 1950s Mallory hat body in a color called mahoot. Charlie passed it on to me a couple years ago and I’ve been smiling ever since.

This is what the Dutch call black ice. Doesn't get any better than that. Makes a very distinct sound when you skate on it and you better keep moving, because it's too thin to stay in one place. When skating you'll see the cracks in the ice shooting out all around you and if it's thin enough you'll have the ice waving before you. You'd love it, Max

Maybe it's raining or maybe not, while I was giving air to the Borsalino it was starting

Borsalino Grand Prix 1900 size 6 or 59 cm. in US it is a 7 3/8, this is a little tight

The color of the felt, finished with medium hair, is "Miele" and the ribbon is "Sepia" as are the borders of the brim

It is a hat that comes from that immense source that was leftover from the A. Torre in Cava dei Tirreni hat shop

The felt has a magnificent color, finish and touch, what does it matter if it is slightly tight and I have not worn it for years ... I had prejudices

Rabbit. I asked for that color without asking about the felt. My fault, I know.

My Huf is his rabbit/hare blend. It is, quite frankly, the best rabbit or rabbit mix I have held in my hands, not counting, I guess, my Adventurebuilt Henry, which is not all rabbit, but a 20/80 mix with beaver. But the Huf r/h blend is smooth and even, and at least as nice as many of the vintage hats I have.

Of course, YMMV, and it has.

Edit: Just noticed the upper pic no where near represents the correct color. The lower one is closer, but the hat is much darker in reality. Obviously the lighting.

Thanks Fruno & Scotty. I think I paid about 30 bucks for it several years ago. Fits like it was custom made. The felt is about as thin as a a piece of construction paper.

Doncha just love that?! I just received a vintage Borsalino with that thin, malleable felt. What a joy!

I must be allergic to it, too. I sometimes start sneezing and get all congested when it's cold.
