I really am partial to the skinny tied ribbons with the tails on these hats Ed. I guess i’ve always been a pure beaver tail man. Good things and all that.
I took mine out yesterday in the snow to add some perfection to a dreary day. No tails though. Argg!
As always, your crowns are King.

Thank you Bowen! I'm about ready for a look at your 7XCBs, last drops, Nutrias, No1s, Boss raw edges. I guess thats enough for now.[emoji16]

Super overall look and shape to that Cavanagh, Rockwater. Nice subtle rake, lovely widish ribbon and bow. Lovely velvety look to the milk chocolate coloured felt, and a typical vibrant Cavanagh liner, too. Love it.

Overdressed for work again today, intentionally of course.

Thank you Steve and Hector!

Steve, I like the way you put that, my new excuse! Yes it’s my 30’s Stetson Standard quality, a favorite for sure. The added embroidered item is a scarf that deceiving looks like a waste coat in the pic.

Went to see my Haberdasher this morning. He ordered in some fun "roaring 20s" suits. He thought they would just be for the various New Years Eve parties around town with the Twenties themes. Little did he know that this style would be a keeper for me. Never going to luck into a vintage one in my size, so this one really fits the bill. I wanted to see if I could pull off a gray hat with it so I wore my modern JP Stetson Whippet in Phantom Gray. A black homburg will also work well I think... Maybe a white (scary!) with a black ribbon treatment?

The last in a series of French heather hats that sleep in the same box

Flechet size 59, no other indication in this semi-finished hat

Like his brothers, he lacks the lining, but has the name of the hat house on the sweatband

The heather felt of these gray-blue hats is very similar, minimally differing the amounts of gray and blue which are the variants
View attachment 200288
Flechet has a softer felt. Morreton more consistent with very particular ribbons in both producers

Thanks for the likes and kind words on the heather French
For the lovers of heather felts here a little comparison of the Flechet

and of the Morreton, made in the same period

Complimenti per i vostri cappelli
Have nice day!
Fabulous, Daniele. Great comparison. Can't call a winner between them.
