Thanks Stefan. I think all of the ads I found for this model are from 1959, so it may have been a short lived one.

After what seemd to be the motherlode came in I had some work to do on the various hats. Not there yet, but had to try these on early this morning just to compare.

Thanks Tim. It was the right amount of clothes and hat. It's 22 here now and getting down to 6 or so tonight. Fortunately the snow is over for now. Doesn't seem quite right for mid-November in any case.

Cordova Cap today. Temps during this pic were 17'f (-8C). Temps this evening will dip to 7'f (-14C).

A much as I'd like it to be Peacock green Stratoliner day, it ain't happening. The coldest northern of the season blew into Texas this morning. In central Texas, sustained winds of 29 mph with gusts to 40 mph. Current temp is 35F making wind chill in the teens and low 20's. My heavy duty coat and sweater from the Aran Sweater Market (I picked up this sweater "at the factory" in Ireland back in 2018). The hat, or should I say cap, for the day is my trusty green Hanna Flat cap.

In central Texas, sustained winds of 29 mph with gusts to 40 mph. Current temp is 35F making wind chill in the teens and low 20's. Our temps today (17'f (now) or -8C dropping to 8'f or -14C compares with their 33'f or 1'C dropping to 30'f or -1C'. Curiosity and it allows me to joke in my morning texts as to weather. I have no jokes about US politics nor do not dare to make comparisons, so weather is easy fallback. If I have nothing nice to say, avoid or say nothing is a terrific axiom to follow.

I see that Stockholm, Denmark has consistent highs/lows this week. Lovely moderate winter conditions in my opinion. You live in a gorgeous part of the world.

Thanks Eric. Denmark is a wonderful place to live for many reasons. One of them being, it's not as cold or snow filled as the other Scandinavian countries.

Thanks Steve. This amount of snow is very unusual for this time of year. And the low tonight will almost surely beat the old record by a fair amount. They are saying 0 F/-18 C tonight. Will probably need the same hat tomorrow and even more coat.

Weatherman on TV just said we had a 45F temperature drop in the last 24 hours. If I did my conversion correctly, that would be a 24/25C temperature drop since yesterday.

Yeah, that was ridiculous today. It was over 70F yesterday and now 34F with a low of 25F tonight here in North Texas. And very windy ! Just came in from covering up plants and going to have a Scotch to warm up....

Eric, I was reading the post on one of the leather jacket threads where the temperature had dropped dramatically, I think it was Canada, the poster went on to say that he needed a hat, sensible fellow. It's a common misunderstanding that European countries are further south and therefore warmer. If you follow the line of latitude, and I'm doing this from memory so correct me if I'm wrong. Starting at Edmonton, Alberta, the line goes across The Atlantic, through Dublin, Eire, across the Irish sea, on through Manchester, UK, across the English Channel/North Sea and on through Hamburg, Germany.

The temperature difference between our two continents is significantly different because we Europeans are fortunate in that we have The Gulf Stream, sometimes called The North Atlantic Drift, a warm current of water in the ocean that drifts from the equator right up to the shores of Europe. Without that, we too might be seeing polar bears.

And to get back on track, earlier I wore a Panama in the cold but bright sunshine, later, the much warmer felt replaced it. This is one wimp European.
