What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Doing a Belgian waffle on this one... seller thought 1930s, I thought 1950s - European hats are often tough to pin down - pre-war and post war production values can be similar. But the only reference I can find to the importer David L. Cohn in Cleveland, Ohio is from a 1916 reference. So maybe...
Note the size correlation is between English and French sizes, not U.S.

Either way Alan, that is one beautiful hat wonderfully worn.
A good reason why European hats are hard to pin down is that a lot of pre-war materials were left on the shelf during WWII, then used again post war.
Btw, isn't that too big a size for you?

Thanks Steve. The hat measures out to a U.S. size 7 1/8. It would fit a little too loose if I wore it with the brim up, but with the brim snapped down and with a bit of a tip backward it fits pretty well - comfortably loose for a lightweight hat on a warm day.

My first vintage has become a Monday - Friday driver, I’m helping another location which is close enough for me to bike to. The manager left early so I’m working hard or hardly working this afternoon, not sure yet ;)

Today....a good sunny day to capture the sparkle of this long haired Angora Borsalino. Tall crown, 2 1/2” brim with an elegant self edge.
A Gorasgu in a rich Agata color.
This one hits several sweet spots.
Be well. Bowen
B, my jaw dropped! What a fantastic, out of the ordinary, and gorgeous Borsalino.

Yeah, you wonder about hats like this. I doubt they're a one-off, but maybe designed especially for the store that sold them? Special order?

I've been through some of the Stetson ad threads, but haven't found anything similar.

Just what i was thinking. I love that ribbon. I can see why you're teething to save it. Maybe a shop customized the hat for a customer...

A hell of a hat, Bowen!
I missed yesterday so I'll have to double-up today. Yesterday's pick, a nice mid-gray Dobbs. This color just seems to go with everything.

Today, one I received late in the spring season, a VS new Black Cherry and Burgundy. With the weather cooling down, I can't wait to put some head time on this one!

I really admire your collection of 7x cb hats, Greg. Outstanding.
