I added photos of the tool in the curled brim thread; the heating system is not included. I’ve been using the gas stovetop in my kitchen.
That's what I used for my knuckle dragging cheap immitation after seeing the video the first time. I seriously doubt that an electric glass top range could pull it off, and even red hot tradition coils seem dubious.
How much did you have to pay for it?
I'm of such a DIY mindset that I never even priced it.

If anyone happens to recognize the store labeling, any help is appreciated.
I like the wider ribbon on that. It sets it apart IMHO. That's "S C L," right?

Well, they go up to No. 9, but 1-5 no longer exist for various reasons. Mostly because I used them to practice and experiment on...
Also, the one pictured is actually moe-riginal No. 7, not 6. My bad.

So far, I think, my dead horses are all still around. I keep beating them because I need practice at the next process too. They're good for a laugh, if nothing else.
Is #7 the first you would consider a success?
It really does look good.
Why stop at 9?

Stopped at my favorite vintage store to shop the newly displayed fall and winter collection. And all I can say is bring on the mountains.

And a 70s era jacket in between.

Have a great day,

Excellent, Michael! I now know I need leather breeches to compliment my rope trimmed velours that don't get much action.
I expect those lederhosen will elicit nice comments regarding your tush as well.

Great to hear about the hawks. I'll be watching for them the next few weeks. For those who don't know, some species of migrating hawks will land in rural areas in open fields of cotton, peanuts, wheat, etc. that were previously harvested to feed on the leftovers. It is always fascinating to see hundreds of hawks in the fields resting during their journey. We call these fields "hawk hotels".

Early morning walk with my dog Horatio (Tio). He and I watched the migrating broad-wing hawks roosting in the neighborhood trees. 10,000 raptors passed thru the Duluth, MN area yesterday. Yes, 10,000 (https://www.hawkridge.org/) . They come thru my neighborhood on their southerly journey. Today I wore a green Stetson Whippet.

This green Whippet has extraordinary thin and pliable felt. It needs a touch of cleaning on the brim. I will treat it to a bunch of steam to reduce the cupping in the rear of the flanged brim and to activate the stiffener in the crown. A wind comes by and the hat changes shape. It is the lightest Whippet felt that has been on my hat rack.

I have seen bluegrass Whippets. This Whippet is the same hue as my pine green Stratoliner. I know the Stratoliner is pine green from the matching magazine advertisements. I will have to do some digging to see what the green was marketed as.

Like other early Whippet's, this one has more brim binding sewn on the bottom of the brim than the top. Interesting Stetson treatment of the Whippet.

Back home to a bit of yard work before the day's heat sits in. Wearing a (new to me) wool cap for the efforts.

5 was close to a success, 6 is better. I stopped at 9 because I determined that my skills weren't going to improve any more due to my low vision. Also, I ran out of felt and Winchester no longer sells to hobbyists.

I couldn't 'like' your response because it was a bit sad. My eyes were once better than they are now too. I find myself trying to look through my glasses, over my glasses, under my glasses, moving to better lighting, and cursing the darkness! It brings the frustration pot to a boil.
I've been hoping a new prescription would sort it out.
Was it the sewing that made you feel you reached a plateau? It is giving me kittens.
