Had court this afternoon so I picked my Grey Adam Executive with the black ribbon for the task.

Thank you maam. Not bad for two hours sleep after getting off duty I guess. I wish we had County/District night court but that will never happen.

Just got this Stetson Imperial back from Art who flanged the brim and did a light cleaning. I went with a Hollywood brim which works quite will with this thin, pliable felt.

Success!!!

:eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :D

After stretching it from a 57 to a 59 and a little reshaping and tuning I finally got to wear the old Akubra Stockman of my dad's that I have coveted for decades :D

Scooter

p.s. I apologize for no pics but I am working on that as well

Brilliant Scott.

That's quite a stretch but in my experience the Akubras handle it well. You will need to give it a reminder every now and then of it's new sizing as they tend to shrink back a bit.

Nice one Gene, great wide brim. Is the back seam of the sweat taped instead of stitched, or is it not secured?

It's a 'welded seam' meaning it's taped from behind. Oh, and this evening as I was fiddling with the hat and checking under the sweat band I noticed that this is one of those types that is buttoned into the hat. Five wafer thin buttons inside the crown attach through eyelets in material behind the sweat band. I guess this facilitates removal so the hat can be more easily rolled. Maybe Warner & Co. was the maker of this gimmick and not of the hat itself.

Akubra Bogart

Went with silver grey and black today, and, bearing in mind your wise counsel about wider brims, I went with my only lid that fits the bill in that colour scheme - the Akubra Bogart.
