This afternoon I wore my vintage Borsolino.

[it was really hot enough for a straw but the Alessandria held up well!]

Champ Take-off

Today it's the Champ Take-off - 1960's - maybe 50's, mushroom brown/grey, stingy brim and. like other airline inspired lids, it came with its own matching hat badge - which my camera doesn't have enough grunt to show detail.

Nice lids, everyone!

My Resistol conversion still needs some work, but I decided that it's good enough to make its first public appearance today.

1940's Stetson Nutria

This arrived yesterday with just a little dust under the brim from sitting on a shelf for 'a few' years. Thinking about adding a 2" black ribbon to it. :p

Garrett - that's a fantastic hat! But based on what I'm hearing from other loungers, I'm confused. That's obviously a very old hat, but I'm hearing that reeded sweatbands on a Stetson indicate late '40s at the oldest. Obviously this is an exception.

Thats only true for the mid-century hats. Earlier ones are a different story. I have two Standard Quality and one is and one isn't and the older one is reeded.

About what year did the total dropping of unreeded sweatbands at Stetson take place?
