Let's see more of this! Real nice proportions. I'm not usually one for feathers, but I'm likin' what they do for this one.

I'm curious about the "oxblood" part, though. Is that in reference to the ribbon color? (Looks kinda purplish on my screen, and the body a dark blue.) Or is it a model name?

The color of the fedora is a dark red

I greeted this windy, long-shadowed and golden morning (Wednesday, 24 Sept.) with a felt, chocolate-brown Scala New Yorker.

Ok, this is out of Character.....

The wife and I went to a Huge County Fair the goes on the a whole week this time of year every year, for the past....geeze 130 yrs. or so, (no kidding). There's a fella and his wife that make the trip up from Fla. every year and have a tent with just hats. Fedoras and such.....usually nothing of very good quality, but I always stop in to look of course.
Well my wife thought it would be a nice change of pace to see what I'd look like in a western, and she said "c'mon, just for the heck of it, try one on....humor me". [huh] I ended up leaving with this...... :eusa_doh:

Honestly, I don't know how much, if any that I'll actually even wear it. As long as it made her happy, that's what counts, right guys? ;)

Oh yeah, I did also find a decent looking White wool fedora for $18 that left with me as well......I'll post pics of that one too. I wanna give it a bit of a steam & clean first though. :D

Kinky Friedman would be PROUD! :D
Bolthead, you make any hat look good. You have panache and confidence so anything you wear looks terrific. Well done.

Hey, you'd never get an argument from me about westerns - like 'em and have a few of 'em!

Also, if not for all those hats the got purchased on a whim over the years and then not worn, we'd have pretty thin pickins from which to search and buy in the vintage department.

Very appropriate, A.C.

Good goin'!

Yeah, I figured I needed a thin ribbon to go to the Truman home. They have his OR hanging on the hook with his coats where he kept it. You can walk right up to it and look at it, although I think they may have gotten touchy if I'd picked it up. He liked a tight pinch!

I'm sure you are right about the "tight pinch" but from some of the pictures I have seen of him in his hats, he seemed to just grab it and put it on without even caring if the brim was snapped down or left up. Definitely a man I would have loved to shake hands with.:)
