Heres my new-to-me Dobbs. Snap brim, no idea how old it is; the sweat is NOT real leather, so it can't be THAT old. However, it's comfortable, the felt feels nice, and the wife likes it That always helps. Think I'm gonna switchout the braid for a 1.5" ribbon, though. Sorry for the 'deer in the headlights' look. I think I'm still suffering from a bit of a turkey hangover!

Thanks RBH! The second photo was actually a joke. Must have flopped, because nobody commented on it. [huh] It was taken at a living history event where I was portraying an Air Raid Warden, and I was wearing my helmet (aka OCD all-steel Bowler with 2.5" snap-brim).

I THINK I still have my grandfather's CD helmet somewhere...his was silver aluminum and of the "cap" style. Don't know the date...'60's, I guess.

I noticed the 2nd photo ...but something about the 1st just grabbed my attention.

I kind of thought it was maybe from a special event type deal, I do have to say its a pretty neat outfit.
